Our clients are large scale industrial facilities that rely on us for our expertise and high-quality implementation of process control systems, information software, instrumentation, industrial networks, SCADA/BMS, measurement, inspection, motion, and state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 technologies. Novate is currently looking for an Industrial Controls Electrician I to join our Field Services Team at our location in Livermore, CA. Primary work location is the East Bay/Fremont area. This individual must have the ability to be client facing, have general awareness of multiple industrial environments, provide support initiative and be extremely organized. The ideal individual is curious with an investigative mindset, wants to resolve complex issues and problems, is a team player and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Responsibilities: Provide off-site client support as needed for process failures and support for automation solutions. Provide input and recommendations to help client self-resolve issues, understand the implication of those recommendations, and anticipate efficiency, compliance, safety and operational needs. Complete new equipment installations for various control components, such as instrumentation, sensors, I/O, VFDs, servo drives, etc. Monitor client systems for active events with an eye towards preventing client downtime. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Accurately report work on to electronic time sheet applications, daily. Required Skills and Experience: Experience in installing raceway, conduit, bending conduit per NEC code. Working knowledge of current NEC code, and ability to read and apply code. Knowledge of electrical principles Ability to interpret drawings and schematics. Experience with low voltage circuits, signaling circuits. Experience with installing and troubleshooting instrumentation a bonus. Experience with installing and basic troubleshooting of VFDs. Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Understands basic construction principles. Ability to meet deadlines. Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely. Ability to establish rapport with customers and other tradesman. Ability to work successfully independently, and with others. Ability to take ownership of issues and communicate with team. Experience in using PPE, LOTO, fall protection systems per OSHA requirements. Individual should be punctual, organized and communicate effectively. Primary duties are to help manage traffic around active work zones for road construction and utility crews. They use a paddle with "Stop" on one side and "Slow" on the other to signal drivers to slow down, stop, or proceed through the area. Often working alongside a crew leader and other apprentices, they coordinate traffic flow through communication, either via two-way radios or hand signals. In some cases, they may set up barricades, cones, vehicle placements, and other devices along the roadway to enhance safety. A Traffic Control Apprentice must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, workers, and themselves while on the road.
