Indoor work is typically performed in a workshop setting. While working outdoors, incumbent is exposed to inclement weather conditions. Duties may also require the incumbent to work in confined spaces, i.e. manholes. Lineworker First Class DEFINITION Perform skilled and specialized work in the construction, maintenance and operation of an electrical distribution, transmission, overhead and underground systems; and perform a variety of other duties and responsibilities involved in providing electrical utility services for the City. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is the advanced journey level position. This class is distinguished from the Lineworker Apprentice by the level of responsibility assumed and the complexity of duties assigned.
