**Job Summary**
The JourneymanLineman is responsible for performing diversified work related to the construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for the distribution of electricity. This position supports the Line team and works with other personnel from the department.
Responsibilities
+ Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
+ Provide technical skills needed for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for the consumer, completing jobs with quality and timeliness.
+ Provide for connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customers' facilities, i.e. transformers, transformer banks, regulators, switches, switching devices, capacitor banks, etc.
+ Route or reroute power lines over, under, or around existing lines and structures.
+ Inspect and/or remove power lines that are damaged.
+ Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other such operations involved in setting or replacing poles.
+ Perform line switching or sectionalizing, as directed.
+ Assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and other crew members in maintenance and construction of power lines.
+ Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
+ Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
+ Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, as needed.
+ Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 3 years of lineman experience.
+ JourneymanLineman's certification.
+ OSHA 10 certification.
+ Valid Class A CDL is required.

Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test

What you will do
Under general supervision, performs installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings and personal analysis. Works with "Prime" electrical contractors as required. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.
How you will do it
Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards and customer system requirements. Lays out electrical controls installation to provide lowest total installed cost.
Mounts and terminates controls equipment as needed.
May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
Determines and validates final termination points to equipment interfaced with the installed system (i.e. chillers, boilers, roof top units, etc.).
Checks out wiring and terminations of field-installed equipment with test instruments as needed (i.e. volt meters, handheld testers, etc.).
Keeps management informed of job needs, progress and issues.
Completes paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provides feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keeps as-built drawings current.
Resolve job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalates concerns to management as required.
Communicates with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Adheres to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings.
Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls.
Experienced in scope determination of installation materials. Able to work independently.

What you will do
Under general supervision, performs installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings and personal analysis. Works with "Prime" electrical contractors as required. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.
How you will do it
Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards and customer system requirements. Lays out electrical controls installation to provide lowest total installed cost.
Mounts and terminates controls equipment as needed.
May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
Determines and validates final termination points to equipment interfaced with the installed system (i.e. chillers, boilers, roof top units, etc.).
Checks out wiring and terminations of field-installed equipment with test instruments as needed (i.e. volt meters, handheld testers, etc.).
Keeps management informed of job needs, progress and issues.
Completes paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provides feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keeps as-built drawings current.
Resolve job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalates concerns to management as required.
Communicates with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Adheres to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What we look for
Required
Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings.
Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls.
Experienced in scope determination of installation materials. Able to work independently.
Preferred
Four years' experience directly with controls installations.
Familiar with Johnson Controls low voltage installations.
Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.) proficiency.
Foreman level experience - managing team of installers.
Commercial construction project experience.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $24.51-$35.57 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
