Essential Functions: The Lineman performs highly skilled, journey-level transmission, distribution, and electrical work in the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead electric transmission, distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment, electrical substations, and related equipment. Work requires rigid observance of safety protocol, working during inclement weather conditions, climbing utility poles and handling high voltage.
Assists with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of overhead electrical power lines and systems.
Assists in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of transmission and substation facilities.
Assists with service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems.
Receives training online, in classroom and on-the-job as well as train/mentor apprentice and groundhand workers on the project team
Operates motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Follow safety rules and practices (Wearing PPE, Set-up Work Zone, Grounding Techniques, etc.)
Experience in the installation and maintenance of various types of distribution and transmission lines ranging in voltages from 4kV to 500kV including wood poles, H-frames, steel poles, lattice structures, etc.
Thorough knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Innovative with mean and methods
Knowledge of and competence to perform hot stick work
Know the tooling for line work and how to use, adjust and calibrate them
Know what safety equipment is used in line work and how to test and examine it before use
Know Lockout I Tag-out and tagging procedures
Know how to read and understand a print for the system(s) they are working on
Know electric safety and how electricity works. (Static, AC, DC, Grounding, Phasing, Induction, Step potential)
Know and understand the operation of support equipment; digging equipment, pulling carts, reel trailers, etc.
Know and understand the different types of electrical equipment used on an overhead electrical system
Know proper wire pulling, sagging and deadending procedures
Understand and demonstrate the proper methods for determining if a line is energized or not
Know how to build and change out aerial equipment such as Transformers, Switched, Reclosers, etc
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of previous Lineman experience
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time
Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material
Must be able to climb a power pole using climbing hooks and belt
Must be able to drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew, operate digger derrick to set poles, etc
Must be capable of pulling, pushing, bending, stooping and kneeling on a frequent basis
Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools and assist other line repairers
Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required
Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
Able to lift in excess of 100 lbs
Able to properly inspect rubber gloves and PPE
Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the schedule. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work
Must be able to meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck as identified by truck manufacturer
Must have a valid Class A commercial driver's license - CDL

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced I&C Technician to join our dynamic team.
As an Instrumentation and Controls Electrician, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other innovative people to maintain, repair, and improve critical production equipment. In this role, you will:
+ Keep production, support equipment and site utilities operational as well as support building/facilities work.

+ Work with maintenance supervisor to prioritize emergency work or pull work forward as time allows.
+ Be included in on-call rotation to provide off-hours emergency support.

Job Qualifications
Skills/Educational Requirements:
High school diploma.
Completion of a stateapproved apprenticeship program or equivalent.
Minimum of four years experience in the electrical trade.
Ability to read and understand bas one-line diagrams (power, special systems riser, etc.)
Good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and the high voltage electrical safety book.
Good character, neat appearance.
Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of outdoor electrical system.
Ability to climb height of 70 on poles or scaffolds.

The Monell Science Apprenticeship Program (MSAP) is looking for highly motivated high school and undergraduate students in the greater Philadelphia area (including Camden) for an eight-week intensive paid internship that provides the opportunity to directly participate in basic research. Our mission is to mentor students in biomedical science and our program was named one of the top 25 pre-college summer programs for learning science by Best College Reviews. We have a special interest in providing this opportunity to students who are from groups typically under-represented in the sciences, including veterans, women, individuals with disabilities, individuals from ethnic and racially marginalized groups, and from low-income households. Students with no prior experience conducting research are highly encouraged to apply.
The Monell Center is a basic research institute furthering scientific discovery on the chemical senses (taste and smell). Each summer, we offer a group of approximately twenty students the unique opportunity to work alongside our scientists in a paid apprenticeship and to learn more about careers in research - a true apprenticeship experience! Students are asked to meet the challenges of serious research responsibilities while contributing to projects at the forefront of scientific research.
Past projects that MSAP students have worked on include:
Cloning olfactory receptors and testing how they respond to odors
Investigating flavor preferences in infants, children and the elderly
Developing non-lethal repellents for agricultural pests
Studying the chemistry of air quality and how it influences people's health perceptions

Students will work with human subjects, animal subjects, and/or data. The Philadelphia Outward Bound School Apprenticeship is an entry-level field position that provides hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience in outdoor education. Apprentices will follow a varied schedule designed to ensure a well-rounded experience, including at least two weeks in Challenge Course Programming, one week in Wilderness Expedition course delivery, and a minimum of three weeks focused on program logistics.
The schedule is structured to develop the skills necessary for a Seasonal Instructor role, including facilitating wilderness expeditions, challenge course programs, logistics, and team-building experiences, all aligned with Outward Bound's mission.
Our Apprenticeship is a 10- to 12-week program designed to provide Apprentices with the training and skills necessary to be an Instructor. Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, individuals will likely move into a Seasonal Instructor position. Because it takes time to develop and hone the skills needed to work in this field, we strongly suggest and ask for a two-year commitment from our Instructors. The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Electrician will be responsible for helping to ensure the operational success of our generation and energy storage asset portfolio.
