Shifts:
We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
2nd Shift work schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 2:30pm - 10:30pm
Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Once your training period begins, you will be assigned to 1st shift for approximately 4 weeks, then moved to 2nd. You will be eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts and jobs when they are posted.
Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts. Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and/or weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).

Candidates that pass the written NOCTI skills assessment will be scheduled for hands-on electrical skills assessment at the plant

Summary:
The Controls Electrician assists area Maintenance and Production personnel in maintaining an efficient operation by utilizing all necessary abilities to troubleshoot, repair and adjust equipment with a minimal amount of down time.
Interpret machine manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings relative to equipment assigned
Understand & demonstrate use of the principles of electricity, electronics, and control systems
Demonstrate an understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70-E
Perform PLC and control system troubleshooting and repair
Diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning apparatus and components, such as transformers, circuit
breakers, fuses, motors, fixtures, PLC's, motion controllers and drives
Troubleshoot Controlnet, Devicenet, DH+, Remote IO and Ethernet networks
Basic knowledge of plant, fire and water sprinkler systems and their controls
Maintain area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper manner
Operate material handling equipment as required
Complete all mandatory training
Required background skills and minimum qualifications shall include:

Has either a journeyman's card from a state approved apprenticeship program or a minimum of three years of hands-on electrical work in manufacturing systems maintenance or equivalent military experience
Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable
Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is desirable
Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is beneficial
Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred
Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

WK Kellogg Co is looking to bring out the tiger in you by utilizing your skill set troubleshooting, repairing, and collaborating on electrical components! In this role you will partner with Operations, Quality Food Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety personnel as you keep the plant and production running. You will act as a problem-solver who helps our company maintain a strong reputation and market share!
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
* Maintaining Equipment and Utilizing Your PLC Knowledge - You will be alternating in between troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and on the spot machine repair. You will need a firm focus and understanding of programmable logic controllers and robotics. Candidate must be able to maintain proper documentation, electrical upgrades, and make modifications and improvements.
* Analyzing Conditions and Providing Solutions - Identifying and examining production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings. Investigating, analyzing and repairing electrical systems while working with PLC programming and other computer-based applications.
* Driving Innovation and Communication - Actively improving plant efficiency and identifying cost saving opportunities. While maintaining an open dialogue with Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Mechanics and Operators, on day-to-day activities and long-term improvement projects.
Required Qualifications:
* 3 years' experience with a Journeyman's OR Electronics/Technical Degree OR 5 years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance without degree
* PLC Troubleshooting experience
* High School diploma or GED
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems
* Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant
* Previous experience with AutoCAD, and SAP
Salary Range: $36.76 an hour
* May earn up to $82,700 - $140,591 (annualized) with COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment) and overtime.
* Shift Differential applies for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
