Exponential Power is a leader in the DC sales and service industry. We are currently looking for industrial installation apprentices to cover installation projects in the Gulf south region. Industrial Apprentices are responsible for the installation of equipment such as batteries, rectifiers and associated equipment used in the Utility and Telecommunications networks. The work will involve the installation of batteries, rectifiers, BDFBs, alarms and cabling, equipment in cell sites and utility facilities. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Technician will be responsible for assisting a Lead Installation Technician to ensure that an installation project is completed Safely, on-time and within QA expectations. An apprentice is a required as a second man in the majority of our installations for safety reasons. A successful candidate will be one that takes his personal and the safety of others very seriously. Technician will assist a Lead (making a team) that installs large Commercial and Industrial Batteries. This is done by removing the old rack and battery, properly packaging and transporting from the site, and then installing the new rack and battery system in the customer's site. ATTENDANCE, RELIABILITY AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS Safety is #1 Punctuality and attendance that is reliable is mandatory. Detail oriented Ensures proper attendance, follow-up and ensures that work projects are not left undone when absent. Abides by all Exponential Power policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT EDUCATION High school diploma or GED, technical degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Past work experience in DC power for the cellular or utility industry a plus. Mechanical ability based on past work history. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, ServiceMax Ability to work on ladders up to 15ft., demonstrated manual dexterity, and lift and carry loads up to 60 lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities is fully remote in that you must be able to travel 100% of the time to the job site. Must be fully qualified and capable of working directly with project management to understand and evaluate scheduled electrical work needed to complete projects in a timely manner. Must be capable of performing all duties associated with the crew lead position and in addition. Must be able to self-prepare for all scopes of electrical work needed by evaluating pictures from site assessment and communicating directly with the project management and design team about any necessary changes or improvements to the electrical plan set. These changes must be documented and sent to the project management team. Must maintain tools and materials needed to “adapt and overcome” any challenges in the field including utility shutdowns. Must be capable of communicating at a high level with city inspectors. Must maintain a 90% or higher pass rate on all electrical equipment wall installations and maintain less than 10% of service calls generated by installation-related quality issues. Must be capable of cross-training and crew development when assigned to supervise and support solar installation crews, allowing roof crew leads to self-perform installations while maintaining consistent quality by performing and documenting (pictures) quality control checks at specific points during the installation process. Must be capable of supervising the crew while the electrical apprentice ( roof lead or other designated person by management) gets to experience electrical wall installation and service upgrades. Must have required personal tools of the trade, see “minimum required personal tools of the trade”. During the first 90 days you will be required to learn how to install Tesla Powerwall coupled with Enphase solar systems. We will be looking to you to run your own crew with a helper installing power walls and solar systems. By the end of the 90 days, you will be required to take a proficiency test. This test will include you installing a complete battery and solar system without the help of the lead electrician at Good Faith Energy. You must pass this test to be a lead electrician for Good Faith Energy. We will provide you with all the on-the-job training as well as classroom materials to advance your knowledge of the systems you will be installing. Attends all meetings and conference calls. Responsible for the scheduling of repair, maintenance, and installation of power lines both above and underground and the installation of transformers and meters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate mastery and continue duties of Apprentice 1, 2, 3, and 4. Safely construct, replace, repair, and perform maintenance of electric distribution lines, structures, and equipment. Investigate trouble on lines and locate cause of power outages. Install, repair, and perform maintenance of underground cables. Install meter and transformer pads. Install and disconnect meters. Install and maintain security lighting. Assist in digging and tamping pole holes; load, unload, set and remove poles. Conduct line patrol activities and report maintenance needs, as necessary. Must be able to operate vehicles and heavy equipment including line trucks, boom trucks, underground trenchers, and digger trucks, and other associated equipment in a safe and proficient manner. Set up and remove barricades, flags, and signs for traffic control and work zone protection in compliance with safety procedures at all job sites. Operate and maintain transportation equipment, tools, and working equipment is in proper condition, and reports deficiencies or repairs needed. Ensure all tools, equipment, and unused materials are returned and replaced on vehicles after the completion of a job or the day's work. Must be able to report to work within 20 minutes of being notified that services are required when performing stand-by duties or when additional services are required. Responsible for compliance with the Cooperative's safety rules, safety policies, and safety procedures. Provide training and supervision to other members of the line crew, especially in the absence of the Foreman and Lead Lineman. Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance. In addition to these responsibilities, may be assigned by the District Operations Supervisor to perform other duties. Education: High school diploma, or equivalent. Successful completion of DOL program requirements for Journeyman Lineman. Completion of advanced lineman training/lineman certification required. Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification. Experience: Eight to ten years' experience in electric utility distribution operations, including distribution system construction and maintenance is required. Job Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of RUS line specifications, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, and OSHA Rules and Regulations. Prior experience in basic technical utility knowledge is required. Abilities and Skills: Must possess a valid Texas CDL (class A) license with a good driving record. Must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral forms with the general public and co-workers. Must be able to climb poles of all types and perform required jobs while on poles. Must possess skills and abilities to perform all required jobs with the installation of materials, apparatus, and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of electric distribution lines. Must be able to operate equipment including bucket trucks, digger trucks, and other related equipment. Must be able to proficiently operate all electronic devices issued to employees including, but not limited to iPads and computers. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more, as necessary without external assistance from personnel or mechanical aids. Must have sight to be able to see working conditions from a safety standpoint. Must be able to effectively utilize a two-way radio to communicate duties and location. Must be able to walk distances up to one mile in uneven terrain. Working Environment: This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting in awkward positions. The majority of the work schedule will be performed traveling to and working at various field locations within the service territory each day. The individual must be willing to work in all adverse and inclement weather conditions, including help with service restoration during storms. Overtime may be required at times of heavy workload.
