Job Summary
A position is available in the Operations Systems & Efficiency group for an Industrial Controls Electrician. The successful candidate will be routinely engaged in the installation, problem solving and upgrading of equipment at various facilities that supply, treat, pump, store and distribute water through the company's service area. A complete understanding of electrical theory, electronics, industrial control systems and instruments shall be maintained with yearly training in both electrical licensing and instrumentation certification. The position may require overtime to respond to electrical/control system emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as mandatory participation in a routine standby.
Principal Responsibilities
Electrical Capabilities:
* Assembles and installs all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, instrumentation and equipment, including but not limited to motors, regulators, controllers, generators, switches.
* Inspects electrical equipment and machinery, diagnoses faulty operation, determines proper corrective action, document in SAP maintenance scheduling program, and makes indicated repairs. Makes meggar, voltmeter, ammeter, ground locating and other electrical tests. Possesses working knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear. Must know underwriter codes, national codes, state and local codes, company rules and regulations and comply with them.
* Engages in company preventative maintenance activities including but not limited to VFD Maintenance, IR Thermography, MCC/Switchgear Maintenance, and assisting contractors/other AWC Supply Operations groups as required.
* Keeps familiar with latest types of electrical control, motor AC/DC Drive, (VFD) Variable Frequency Drives.
* Configure, Commission, Troubleshoot & Startup any AC/DC Drive, any (HMI) Human Machine Interface current, (PLC) Programmable Logic Controller, (DCS) Distributive Control System, and PLC/RIO panel for current and future installations in conjunction with the Control System Services Group (SCADA).
* Document all electrical changes by red-line plant drawings and notify the Control System Services Group with a copy of said changes. Ensure that all wires and devices in / outside panels are labeled. Assist maintenance personnel with proper electrical symbols & check drawings marked up for accuracy. Ensure electrical panels have up to date drawings and are accurate.
* Excellent diagnostic skills are required as situations can be complex and non-recurring. Must be able to identify recurring and non-recurring operating conditions and maintenance needs requiring adjustment.
Mechanical Capabilities:
* Inspects machinery and equipment while in operation, diagnosing faulty operation, if any, lubricating it, and making such adjustments or repairs as are necessary to keep the equipment in operation.
* Maintains, inspects, lubricates, and repairs as necessary the following plant systems: Water system, including softener, pumps, towers, and filtering equipment; compressed air system, including compressors, valves, filters, separators, and controls; HVAC systems, including units, filters, washers, vaporizers, and fans; gas and propane systems, plant drainage and sewage disposal system. installation maintenance including landscaping.
* Uses hand and power tools of all kinds and variety of measuring and testing instruments.
* Assists other AWC departments with station upgrades and construction as necessary.

* Strong customer service, project management, electrical and mechanical skills.

The Apprentice Teacher Training Program at New Canaan Country School provides "on the job" training for individuals interested in becoming elementary and middle school teachers. Classroom placements range from kindergarten to sixth grade. Each apprentice works directly alongside a lead teacher, and together, they provide instruction to students in language arts, mathematics, and social studies. For those interested in sports, apprentices have opportunities to coach in the school's interscholastic athletic program. On Wednesday afternoons, apprentices attend faculty meetings and participate in seminars that address a variety of topics in teaching and education.
This program is uniquely designed to give beginning teachers the experience and training they need to go out and lead classrooms of their own. Country School is a leader in teacher training with nearly 1,000 apprentices coming through the program since 1952. We welcome anyone thinking of pursuing a career in education to apply.
The Apprentice Teacher Training Program is total immersion into the teaching profession. The school provides a stipend of $31,000 to its first-year apprentices (with an increase for each following year of service), and housing is available for a modest fee. There is some financial support for apprentices who wish to begin graduate work. Through this comprehensive work experience, apprentices who complete the program gain a unique stepping-stone for a career in teaching. Upon completion of the Apprentice Teacher Training Program, most apprentices either apply for lead teacher positions or enter graduate school. This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
Provide basic installation assistance as directed by project lead.

Take ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observe and practice Convergint Quality Standards.
Make suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
Learn and perform tasks of an Electrical Installer III in order to progress through the trade program.
Provide feedback to the Job-Lead regarding problems and anticipate time associated with an assigned task. Act as primary liaison to Project Lead.
What You'll Need
Experience installing and wiring access control, network cameras, door hardware, panel installation & wiring, and programming of door and camera additions.
Solid Construction Skills and understanding of system plans.
Solid understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, cut sheets, wiring schematics, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.
Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.).
Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
The Electrical Installer will be responsible for providing basic hand tools as required to perform the daily tasks of the position.

About the position
Hiring for this position will commence January 5, 2026
In this position, you will be a key player in Lamothermic's daily production operations, by developing, implementing and maintaining some of the best equipment the industry has to offer. You will join a team whose goal is simple - employ the best people, technology, processes and materials to provide our customers with a quality investment casting.
Salary:
$32.00+/ Hour

Qualifications
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic.
Mechanical Aptitude
Experience with the following systems
Electrical wiring, conduit layout
Electronics. Ability to read & understand schematics.
Motor/bearing replacement
Ability to read & understand schematics.
Pneumatic
Welding (Preferred)
Understanding of PLC logic a plus.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
Perform preventive maintenance
Install new equipment
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
Perform machine modifications/upgrades.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Perform all other duties assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
