The Maintenance Mechanic-Electrical Technician will install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties. Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma and Vocational diploma; or High School diploma and apprentice experience. * Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. *
* Three years commercial electrical experience.
* Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
* Electrical license
* Five (5) years of commercial electrical experience
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
* Install wiring and conduit systems for newly installed machines and equipment.
* Replace bulbs and ballasts.
* Run new circuits.
* Pull telephone and computer wires.
* Check and maintain all types of light fixtures and outlets.
* Inventory and maintain stock of electrical items.
* Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken parts, wiring or cables.
* Assist other trades as necessary.
* Operate different types of lifts to perform electrical work.
* Operate a forklift, with training.
* Subject to be on call for emergencies.
* Assist with snow removal.
Other duties may be assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
* Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard and non-standard situations.
