This person joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints, fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water softeners and clogged toilets. This person repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, inspections of drains using specialized camera systems and may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine accurate project requirements. Install subfloors, partitions, studs, joists, drywall, rafters, tunnel and sewer supports. Install millwork, custom cabinetry, stairs, railings, trims, molding, bathroom hardware, and hardware backing. Repair and install doors, door frames (hollow metal and wood), locks, hardware, door closing mechanisms, and ADA signs. Work with concrete in excavating, forming, laying, and finishing sidewalks, curbs, slabs, etc. Perform light to moderate demolition, including the removal of damaged or unneeded structural components. Utilize hand and power tools to complete a wide range of carpentry tasks. Work with other team members to ensure projects are completed to a high standard. Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently. Ensure compliance with commercial code and ADA requirements for building. Perform other duties as assigned.
