Full-time Description
This Toolmaker position is that of a highly skilled, highly motivated person, who can work closely with the Production and Engineering teams, to develop new products In I.C.O.P. and Baird style transfer presses. This position requires the ability to develop creative solutions, through R&D and collaboration, to get from design to full production. The ability to work in a team environment, while possessing strong communication and troubleshooting skills are required.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and maintain production on a full range of ICOP and Baird style presses as well as auxiliary equipment.
Work directly with engineering for initial tool design, prototypes, as well as improvements needed for current production tools.
Ability to train less skilled team members and apprentices.
Support other development and production teams as required.
Build and assemble custom tooling, gages, jigs, fixtures, and test equipment.
Use precision measuring instruments, hand tools, welding, and other shop equipment.
Maintain clean and safe work area.
Perform work to meet AS9100, IATF16949 and/or ISO13485 manufacturing standards.
Additional duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Toolmaker Position Requirements:
Having successfully completed a certified State Approved Apprenticeship or equivalent machine tool experience
5 years minimum experience setting up, maintaining, and developing precision, high quality deep drawn metal components.
Proficient use of all manual tool room equipment.
Extensive background with building precision tooling, in both steel and carbide, for transfer presses.
Knowledge and use of precision measuring instruments.
Extensive background in deep draw, holding close tolerances, using a variety of materials.
Advanced knowledge in the theory of cutting and forming as it relates to the stamping and deep draw processes. The ability to read a sample line to determine the potential for part failure.
Good troubleshooting skills
Ability to follow verbal instruction, read and comprehend blueprints including G.D&T.
U.S. Person - This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Toolmaker Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of roll threading, beading, notching and side piercing.
Basic knowledge of progressive tooling
Basic understanding of secondary operations and power presses.
Basic welding.
Physical Conditions:
Normal manufacturing working environment
Lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds.
Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Trimmer
As a Trimmer at Lewis Tree Services, you'll build foundational skills in utility vegetation management and provide support for tree trimming and line clearing operations serving utility companies and other clients.
- Ground-level and aloft tree pruning, felling, and vegetation removal to maintain clearance around power lines and equipment (includes climbing or aerial lift work under supervision and proper training).
- Operate chainsaws, chippers, and similar equipment; use handlines to lower limbs and equipment; fell and rig trees.
- Assist with job site set up, maintenance, rigging, traffic control, and general job site cleanup.
- Support job site safety by spotting, assisting climbers, and communicating hazards.
- Apply herbicides in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
- Drive and operate trucks and specialized equipment (certification required).
- Participate in job briefings and follow safety protocols.
- Travel as needed for work, including potential overnight stays.

- At least 12 months' experience working on tree crews as a Trimmer Trainee.
- Basic knowledge of tree species and arboriculture pruning techniques.

Required to hold a State plumbing license.
Three or more years of repair and service plumbing experience required. Proven track record in the sale of plumbing products and services required.
Full knowledge of plumbing systems is essential for performing duties.
Plumbers are expected to gain Excavation Certification through Competent Person Training (OSHA requirement) within the first year of employment. Journeyman license or equivalent certification as specified by the state in which branch operates and performs service. Unlicensed plumbers will be expected to obtain certification as soon as they become eligible, if necessary, by state law.
Must have good written and oral communication skills for effective customer service. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in client and co-worker relations.
