**Responsibilities**
**THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**POSITION SUMMARY**
The packer/handler assures by visual inspection that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to Amcor Corporation quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner.
**KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
2. Inspect product to ensure quality. Set aside product that is below quality standards. Work closely with Leads and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Watch molds for irregularities or sticking. Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
3. Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles
4. Flame containers and lids when required.
5. Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders
6. Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels
7. Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed
8. When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor
9. Accurately complete any required paperwork
10. Miscellaneous duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

Responsibilities:
Operates mobile crane to lift; move, position and load scrap.
Offload material for processing.
Loads scrap buckets and visually monitor weight of scrap placed in each bucket when needed.
Responsible for scrap inspection as it is being loaded.
Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals, levers, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
Operates mobile equipment as needed.
Communicates and directs co-workers through two-way radio and hand signals.
Assist maintenance with cleaning on down days.
This position may be responsible for operating other off-road type heavy, mobile equipment as necessary. All work performed in a steel mill environment. Additional duties include but not limited to:
Perform and record routine mobile equipment pre-start and post inspections,
Complete required activity reports.
