POSITION SUMMARY The Supply Continuity Manager is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials, components, and products through proactive risk identification, mitigation, and recovery planning across the supply base. This role partners closely with Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Production, and Program Management teams to safeguard supply continuity during disruptions, capacity constraints, or quality events. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Supply Risk Management * Monitor, assess, and report supply risks related to supplier capacity, financial stability, logistics, geopolitical events, and quality performance. * Develop, maintain, and continuously update a Supplier Risk Dashboard. * Lead early warning processes to detect and escalate potential shortages or disruptions. * Crisis & Recovery Management * Serve as the lead during significant supplier disruptions, shortages, or force majeure events. * Ensure Supplier Recovery Plans created and executed (including expedited logistics). * Facilitate cross-functional communication across functions. * Travel and support as necessary to crisis supplier locations * Preventive Planning & Supplier Readiness * Partner with Supplier Quality, Purchasing, and Program Teams to ensure suppliers have robust business continuity and capacity plans in place. * Audit and verify supplier capacity and/or tooling. * Drive implementation of preventive measures such as supplier localization and buffer stock strategies. * Communication & Stakeholder Alignment * Act as the communication link between suppliers, internal teams, and leadership during continuity challenges. * Provide executive updates and risk summaries on critical supply issues. * Lead alignment meetings with purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics functions to ensure continuity priorities are met. * Continuous Improvement * Analyze root causes of past supply disruptions to drive systemic improvements. * Establish Supply Continuity KPIs (e.g., number of high-risk suppliers, production days lost, etc…). * Promote a culture of proactive risk management, resilience, and accountability across the supply base. * Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred). * 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, supplier quality, procurement, or risk management. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using ERP and risk monitoring tools. * Proven experience managing supplier crises, capacity planning, and continuity recovery actions. * Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills. * Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and supplier development processes (preferred). * Willingness to travel 50-75% (Including occasional weekends during critical supplier disruptions. * Key Competencies * Proactive Risk Identification * Crisis Management & Problem Solving * Cross-Functional Leadership * Supplier Relationship Management * Strategic Thinking & Resilience * Communication & Stakeholder Engagement We are an Affirmative Action/EEO employer. This role bridges production, inventory control, and operations teams to minimize bottlenecks, reduce lead time, and preserve production cadence. Essential Duties / Responsibilities Move WIP between cells, workstations, and storage locations following established material handling and safety procedures. Monitor production queues and line balance to maintain steady workflow and meet takt requirements. Update and audit product location and status data in the ERP/MRP system, ensuring accuracy of WIP counts and location records. Reconcile discrepancies between physical WIP and system records; initiate and document corrective actions. Prioritize and expedite orders to align with monthly shipping schedules; coordinate with Production Line Managers, production team members, and planning team. Support production changeovers by clearing WIP, relocating parts, and preparing areas to minimize downtime. Track and report WIP aging and bottlenecks; escalate persistent issues to Product Line Managers and/or planning department. Assist in root-cause investigations related to mislocated or missing product and implement agreed corrective measures. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on material flow, floor layout, kanban replenishment, and visual management. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and company safety policies. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling physical inventory and system data. Proficiency with basic data entry and common business applications (Excel, Teams, Outlook); experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Practical knowledge of warehouse and production floor material handling practices; forklift or other equipment certification a plus. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks under changing production demands. Clear verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple teams. Comfortable working on a fast-paced manufacturing floor. Reliable time management, punctuality, and a sense of urgency.
