    The Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) will have competence to care for patients in the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Cardiac Stepdown Unit. This RN will work with a team of physicians, other nurses, patient care techs, and other professionals from various departments of the hospital such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy. This RN is part of a team that provides care for traumatically injured patients and critically ill patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as Heart Attack or Stroke, as well as cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and psychiatric diagnoses. This RN works alongside the team with the common goal of providing compassionate, quality care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a fast-paced environment. This RN will assess and monitor a wide array of health conditions and injuries, administer medications, and perform procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This RN will routinely evaluate episodic and acute responses to broad classifications of physical and psychosocial conditions, as well as manage the planning and implementation of interventions. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures, and standards of the Health System.
