In 1959, Ejiri moved to a larger office and workshop location in Nagoya to expand the business and seek the possibility of producing radiators.
1960 Started to manufacture ratchet gears for beach chairs
In 1970, Ejiri built a factory dedicated strictly to manufacturing in Nagoya to increase the production capacity of all related machinery.
1973 Changed trade name to KOYO Giken Co., Ltd.Built four story building as a new head quarter closed to the factory
1974 Started new ratchet gear production for floor chairs and wooden seats
1980 Established KOYO Engineering Co., Ltd. at Kusabe, Sakai, Osaka, Japan for international operations
1987 Expanded head factory at Kusabe, and became head office of KOYO Giken
1988 Started exporting to Asia
In 1994, Koyorad established its first overseas location in Jakarta, Indonesia, as a copper/brass radiator factory with 50 employees.
1995 Started exporting to Europe
1997 Increased the capital doubled for KOYO Giken and KOYO Engineering Co., Ltd.
1999 Started to produce Legman (patented): Height adjustable table leg system
2000 Started exporting to North America
In 2000, Koyorad USA was established in Southern California, distributing original replacement radiators for passenger cars.
2001 Exhibited at Cologne Interzum 2001Winner of Interzum Award (KOYO Legman) as the first Asian manufacture in its history.Office furniture manufacturers in the USA and Europe started to use KOYO LegmanStarted selling Legman for USA, UK, and France
2002 Awarded an excellent declarer by the Sakai Tax Head Officer, Japan
2003 Exhibited at Cologne Interzum 2003Started business with HAFELE USA for the distribution of KOYO Legman.US school facility newly adopted KOYO Legman for their science tables
2004 Expanded and renovated new head quarter building
Four years later, in 2004, Koyorad all-aluminum racing radiators made their US debut.
2005 Fine gear (14 steps gear) started production and sales
2006 China factory and sales office opened
JTEKT North America Corporation, part of JTEKT Corporation, was founded in 2006 through the merger of Koyo Seiko, Co., LTD and Toyoda Machine Works, LTD, forming a new global company combining modern technology with a rich heritage of quality.
2007 Built a new warehouse
2007/2 Production of the motor-driven power steering system was started at JTEKT STEERING SYSTEMS (XIAMEN) CO., LTD. in China.
2008/8 TOYODA MICROMATIC MACHINERY INDIA LTD., a machine tool sales and service company, was established in India.
2009/6 KOYO BEARINGS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, a bearing sales company, was established in India.
2010/6 Capital increase through public offering and third-party allotment 2010/10 PT. JTEKT INDONESIA in Indonesia started production of the motor-driven power steering system and starter clutch.
2010/1 The needle bearing business was acquired from THE TIMKEN COMPANY, a major bearing company in the United States.
2010/5 JTEKT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER (WUXI) CO., LTD., a technical center, was established in China.
2011 Exhibited at Cologne Interzum 2011IS gear with stretch mechanism(IS150T) debut in European market
2011/7 GKN JTEKT LTD. was merged and acquired.
2012/10 The Iga Test Course was opened.
2012/1 A brand mark symbolizing integration of JTEKT, KOYO and TOYODA was established.
2013 Micro-Pitch gear and Free-Lock gear started production and sales
2013 Exhibited at Cologne Interzum 2013Micro-Pitch gear and IS gear with long stretch mechanism(IS150LT) debut in European market.
2014/3 JTEKT AUTOMOTIVA BRASIL LTDA. started production of the Electric power steerings.
2014/10 Koyo Sales Co., Ltd. was merged and acuired.
2015/9 JTEKT AUTOMOTIVE MEXICO, S.A. de C.V. started production of the Electric power steerings.
In 2018, Kazumoto Ejiri’s son, Takuma Ejiri, became the new and current company president.
2019 Exhibited at Cologne Interzum 2019Unbreakable Gear (N50-90L-32AF/N50-90L-15 (90)) debutIn addition, a variety of electric functionalmechanisms(EL-02H2, EL-03H, & MA-02SH2)introduced in the market.
