What You'll Do
As a Director-level Individual Contributor, you will own the product strategy and execution for Teradata's compute and cloud services layer, which underpins Teradata's enterprise analytics and AI platform across public cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
You will be responsible for defining how Teradata's platform provisions, manages, optimizes, and scales compute to support analytics, data warehousing, and AI workloads across Teradata VantageCloud, customer-managed environments, and partner infrastructure ecosystems.
You will drive the product vision and roadmap for compute‑related capabilities including cloud services, infrastructure abstraction, workload optimization, performance, cost management, and platform integrations, ensuring Teradata delivers consistent, enterprise‑grade experiences across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid deployments.
This role is high‑impact and hands‑on: you will operate as a senior IC, setting direction, authoring strategy, shaping roadmaps$core, and working deeply with engineering, cloud platform teams, and strategic partners.
Success in this role means:
Defining and owning the compute and cloud services product strategy that enables Teradata's analytics and AI platform to run efficiently at scale.
Driving a roadmap that supports elastic compute, workload isolation, performance optimization, and cost efficiency across cloud and hybrid environments.
Partnering with cloud platform and infrastructure teams to ensure Teradata's services align with hyperscaler primitives (AWS, Azure, GCP) while preserving platform consistency.
Enabling Teradata's AI and advanced analytics workloads through compute‑aware platform design, including support for GPU‑enabled and AI‑accelerated use cases where applicable.
Collaborating with engineering to translate customer, field, and partner requirements into clear, prioritized product requirements.
Working closely with strategic infrastructure and OEM partners (e.g., Dell and others) to support validated architectures, reference solutions, and joint deployments where relevant.
Supporting go‑to‑market teams with technical narratives, solution positioning, and customer engagement support.
Ensuring compute and cloud services meet enterprise expectations for security, reliability, availability, and lifecycle management.
Who You'll Work With
You will partner closely with leaders and senior ICs across Teradata Product Management, Cloud & Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Alliances, and Go‑To‑Market teams.
This role sits within the Teradata Product Organization and reports to the VP of Product Management. While you will not have direct people‑management responsibility, you will operate as a technical and strategic leader, influencing direction across multiple teams.
You will also collaborate with Teradata's AI governance and platform teams to ensure all compute and cloud services align with Teradata's principles of security, responsibility, transparency, and trust.
What MakesIEEE You a Qualified Candidate
7+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, cloud platforms, infrastructure services, or data platforms.
Proven experience owning platform or services‑level product areas, particularly compute, cloud infrastructure services, or distributed systems.
Strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals (IaaS, PaaS, elasticity, autoscaling, workload orchestration, cost management).
Experience working with hyperscaler environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their compute, storage, and networking primitives.
Familiarity with enterprise analytics or data warehouse platforms, including performance, concurrency, and workload management considerations.
Ability to translate complex technical systems into clear product strategy, roadmaps, and requirements.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional engineering, platform, and partner teams without direct authority.
Foundational understanding of AI and analytics workloads and how compute choices impact performance, cost, and scalability.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, executives, partners, and customers.
What You Will Bring
You bring a platform‑first mindset and are energized by solving hard problems at the intersection of compute, cloud services, and enterprise data platforms. You are comfortable going deep technically while also operating at a strategic level.
You thrive as a senior IC-setting direction, writing strategy, and driving outcomes through influence rather than hierarchy. You are customer‑centric, pragmatic, and motivated by building foundational capabilities that enable everything above them.
Experience with Teradata Vantage, VantageCloud, or large‑scale analytics platforms.
Background in hybrid cloud or customer‑managed enterprise environments.
Exposure to AI‑enabled analytics, GPU‑accelerated workloads, or ML platform infrastructure.
Experience working with OEM or infrastructure partners (e.g., Dell) on validated architectures or joint solutions.
Strong understanding of enterprise requirements around security, Trying, compliance, availability, and lifecycle management.
Passion for building scalable, durable platform services that support data and AI at enterprise scale.
Why We Think You'll Love Teradata
We prioritize a people‑first culture because we know our people are at the very heart of our success. We embrace a flexible work model because we trust our people to make decisions about how, when, and where they work. We focus on well‑being because we care about our people and their ability to thrive both personally and professionally.
