D365 Business Analyst
Junior Business Analyst Job 41 miles from Waukegan
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at the Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it. If you have read my JD's in the past, you - hopefully - were at least entertained. If you are new to my JD's, realize that I am a real live human writing this. No bots, no AI...just a real live human trying to stay warm on a cold Midwestern winter day.
As with any role I work on, there are two very key aspects to a 'fit'...those two aspects being a social fit and a technical fit.
So, let's start off with that social fit. Here are some of the characteristics that create a good social fit for this role:
This is an environment where we want you to speak up and ask questions. There is absolutely no expectation that you know everything. In fact, if you were to say "I know everything about everything"....I would tell you to go tap Elon Musk on the shoulder...he probably has a gig in mind for you. I think you get the point...ask questions, raise your hand....
There is limited micro-management here. People love hearing this...no micro-management. ..whoopee...yippie skippy. But, this also means that you don't need to be micro-managed.
I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holder. I cannot work with OPT, EAD, H1, F1 Visa Holders. Again, I can ONLY work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders.
This role is permanent & fully benefitted.
This role is being done in a hybrid manner with 3 days onsite in Lisle, Illinois, and the other 2 days remote.
Here is what we are seeking in this role:
This role will be 85% functional and 15% technical when it comes to the world of D365. This environment is mid-sized with roughly 700-800 users, with 2 legal entities and 50+ locations.
This client has already implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365. We are seeking that D365 F&O expert that can serve as a Subject Matter Expert to lead production support and incremental enhancement projects. You will be working on troubleshooting issues in that F&O module within D365...this will be a significant portion of your work here.
In those first 30 days, you will be understanding the current configuration of this client's environment, and learning about the 2 entities. In those next 30 days (by day 60), you will start taking up issues in the system & learning who to reach out to for issues A, B & C (this is where the asking questions piece of the puzzle I mentioned above comes in). You will also be fixing issues in D365, as well, by day 60 as well. By day 90, you will be fixing bugs, starting to work on requirements gathering, documentation, process flow diagramming and all those nifty things that one sees in a 'classic' Business Analyst. You will also continue to learn who the right people to reach out are within the enterprise.
As you are finding out, If you have tag teamed your D365 experience with some classic Business Analyst skills, that would be spot on with regards to what we are seeking in this role. As most people who have been in the D365 (or the ERP space in general) know...a significant amount of your success depends on looking at situations from the perspective of 'what problem are we trying to solve...and then work backward from there'.
Here is what we are seeking in this role:
At least 3 years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O experience. This experience will also need to be recent (in other words, if it is 4-5 years ago, that will not work unfortunately). In other words, I will need to see D365 experience in your resume for this role to be a fit....
If you have been a D365 Team Lead, or have been a support lead for D365, that would be ideal for a role like this.
If you have D365 F&O Development experience, that would be good to see. However, just remember that this is primarily a support role and not a development role.
Any process improvement experience within Dynamics 365 would be great to see.
Any experience with Integration/middleware would be great to see (Datamason, Precision Forms).
