We are currently seeking a Jr. Civil Engineer to support our growing team in our Dulles, VA office.

Responsibilities:

As an Jr. Civil Engineer, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects.

The Jr. Civil Engineer will be responsible for the following:

* Working with project teams all aspects of projects; project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
* Preparing and designing improvement plans for a wide range of projects.
* Preparing, preparing, and modifying of construction documents, reports, specifications and designs for project
* Analyzing maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
* Assisting with post design construction support services to respond to RFIs, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations
* Working alongside office staff and management to successfully complete projects within the established budgets and deadlines.

Qualifications:

The qualifications for the Jr. Civil Engineer role include:

* Bachelors degree of Science in Civil Engineering
* 0-3 years of full-time engineering experience
* Eligibility for or in possession of EIT certification
* Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and techniques with reference to construction materials, methods, and procedures
* Experience in public sector with exposer in land development, transportation, dry and wet utilities
* Experience reading specifications and project reports
* Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (MicroStation/Inroads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D)

Prepare engineering designs and calculations for large scale renewable power projects, with focus on PV solar. Responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. Strong understanding of PV solar systems and supporting engineering, procurement, construction delivery (EPC) projects.
Key Responsibilities

Develop Design and Construction Drawings, including Site, Grading, Utility, and Erosion, Sedimentation and Pollution Control Plans for land development projects

Prepare calculation packages for relevant site design aspects.

Prepare feasibility studies and final designs for stormwater BMPs for new and redevelopment (retrofit) projects

Develop technical specifications and assist in construction cost estimation for large scale solar power projects

Prepare conceptual plans and accompanying material takeoffs for large-scale solar power project proposals.

Prepare environmental and land development permit applications and compliance reports supporting solar power projects

Review and comment on contractor submittals and requests for information

Conduct construction oversight inspections and closeout activities including final inspections, completion of punch lists, and record drawings

Some travel/field work may be required.

Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D

Create reports with Hydraflow and similar hydrologic/hydraulic software

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology

1-3 years' civil design and consulting experience preferred with a focus on site and land development

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Hydraulic and Hydrologic Software (Hydraflow, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Hydraulic Toolbox, etc.)

Experience in developing construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and construction planning documents

Flexibility and adaptability to work in an agile work environment with personnel delivering from multiple locations or remotely

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Client (internal and external) service focus

Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

Effective organizational and time management skills with abilities to multi-task and work independently in dynamic environment involving multiple projects
