We are looking to hire a Jr. PCB Designer who will lead the advancement of our capabilities to develop complex multi-layer printed circuit boards that meet the requirements of our expanding line of spaceflight products.

Work closely with design engineering to improve PCB design process in areas of stack-up specification, placement optimization, routing planning, and constraint generation.

Collaborate with internal teams and external PCB fabricators to continually improve design rules/constraints/checks and design for manufacturability/test guidelines.

Coordinate and guide ECAD transition from site based Intercept tools/libraries to corporate PLM based Cadence tools/libraries.

Job Duties:

This position requires working with small teams to create PCB designs that can be fabricated to IPC-6012DS while meeting all electrical, mechanical and thermal requirements and adhering to the design standards of IPC-2221 and IPC-2222. The responsibilities also include creating and maintaining symbol and geometry libraries, working with a standardized design processes including reviews, supporting continuous improvement, insuring proper software tool maintenance and on occasion managing other PCB design contractors.

Required:

This position requires a minimum of 0 to 5 years of PCB design experience preferably in the aerospace field. The designer must be familiar with implementation of controlled impedance, matched trace lengths, via in pad and blind/buried via designs. Experience with the following tools is preferred: Cadence Allegro PCB Venture and Intercept Pantheon.


This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

Responsibilities - Work you'll do:

• Assist in the Production of As-Built Drawing Packages for the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system

• Development of Ship Installation Drawing LAR Packages for Naval Maritime Systems; using ANSI, ASME (Y14.5M), and/or NAVSEA (TS9090), standards and drafting requirements, and conducting Shipboard Validations as necessary to facilitate compliance with Naval technical standards.

• Assist Lead CAD Engineer with the implementation of Red Line changes on the customer database using AutoCAD and Adobe Pro.

• Development of Drafting Standards and Practices, as well as Training Materials for the Drafting Department.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

• Proficient in AutoCAD - 2D

• Experience in utilizing Adobe Acrobat Pro for conversion of drawing products and deliverables

• Proficient with MS Office - Full Suite of Products

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 - 3 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education - Favorable if you have:

Proficiency Experience with some or all of the following:

• Block Wiring Diagrams/ Design

• Piping Diagrams/ Design

• HVAC Diagrams/ Design

• Navy drawings

Clearance Required:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range: Pay Range $36,400.00 - $56,000.00 - $75,600.00

• Ownership of design and development of automotive interior trim components from production release to start-of-production (SOP).
• Track assembly and component part functional, Testing, key date timing, key characteristics, and weight requirements to SOP.
• Lead engineering and design reviews to develop and maintain open issues list.
• Tier II Supplier liaison and management.
• Support the manufacturing plant with design solutions for current production part quality, assembly and manufacturing issues.
• Control of Design Verification Plans and Sign off Report.
• Pre-Production parts follow-up and vehicle build support.
• Initiate development testing as required and report results into the DVP&R.
• Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements.
• **Senior Design Engineer: Mentor new product engineers and PE technicians in engineering, department, and company responsibilities.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science- Engineering degree

Experience:

• Minimum 1- 5 years of plastic part design, preference for automotive engineering experience (CATIA V5 design, Product Engineering and Change Management).
• Experience in tooling plastic components and processes are strongly preferred.
• Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical system preferably in automotive industry.
• Experience with Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen

Skills:

• Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CATIA V5 (required).
• Experience with 3D-A Surface Modeling
• Understanding of Component Releasing, Change Control and Data management is desired.
• Interior Trim or Headliner (roofing)
• Understanding of DFMEA, (Lessons Learned documents).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Other:

• Ability to work effectively with a minimum supervision.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The performance of this position will also require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses.
