ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work under the close supervision of senior level personnel who guide the junior engineer to resolve basic tasks. Provide support to develop real-time closed-loop HITL simulations for guided weapon and IRCM systems utilizing the GWEFRTS framework. Apply knowledge of GPS technology, system concepts and operation. Verify and validate simulations against other simulations and against actual ground and flight tests.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position. Must have a minimum of one year of experience in software development in MATLAB, C and C++. Experience/education in Model-Based System Engineering and/or Digital Engineering also highly desired.
Job Requirements:

GENERAL DUTIES: Develop new or modify existing simulations to meet customer-specific test objectives. Implement simulations of air-to-air, surface-to-air and air-to-surface weapon systems. These simulations incorporate both hardware and software model elements into a single HITL simulation used for test and evaluation of weapon systems. These simulations operate on a variety of computer platforms, including Alpha workstations and PC compatibles. The models include kinematics; dynamics; component models such as linear and angular accelerometers, gyroscopes, rate sensors, barometers and E/O, IR and LASER seekers/sensors; and hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical control actuators. These models are required to execute in real-time at integration rates exceeding 2000 Hz. Implement target models including environmental effects. Interface the simulation software to the weapon system under test and to the GWEF test equipment, including flight motion simulators; E/O, IR, LASER, RF and MMW target simulators; GPS and other inertial components. These interfaces are implemented using analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog systems, digital parallel or serial interfaces, shared memory systems, or combinations thereof.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Top Secret clearance. Candidates must eligible to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance. Candidates with a Secret clearance must have been adjudicated within the past 5 years. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is normally performed in an environmentally controlled office/laboratory environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of performing required tasks while using wide variations of physical effort such as sitting, running, walking, standing, crawling, climbing or remaining in awkward, sometimes strained, positions for extended periods of time; may be required to lift up to 30 lbs.

Seeking qualified Engineers to support the Radar Systems Division (B40) within the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B Department) at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). B40 supports multiple Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems and provides Sensor Systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems. Selected candidates will work with Navy/Marine Corps engineers and analysts and will be responsible for contributing to systems engineering taskings for new and evolving tactical Air Surveillance, Fire Control, and/or Ground Weapons Locating Radars. Work assignments may be associated with the AN/SPY-1 Radar, Dual Band Radar, Advanced Missile Defense Radar, Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar, Affordable Common Radar Architecture or other Navy/USMC radar development programs. Position support the following major areas: Systems Engineering and Integration, Test and Evaluation Support, Software Support, Software/System/Element Certification, and Hardware Development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Radar system engineering experience desired.
• Eligibility for Secret DoD clearance required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
• Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
• Professional certification is a plus.

The Junior Engineer is an entry level to mid-level EIT with a 0 - 5 years of experience This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Department Manager

Perform roadway design including PennDOT Plan Preparation, Quantity Calculations, Specifications, Construction Estimates (using AUTOtab), and design and construction schedules.

Prepare designs in accordance with PennDOT Criteria including vertical and horizontal geometry, drainage, erosion & sedimentation control, maintenance on protection of traffic and signing/ pavement markings. Responsible for scope, schedule and budget adherence to assigned tasks.

Develop or implement engineering solutions to assist clients with improving and maintaining their infrastructure.

Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems or structures (as appropriate) using computer assisted design or drawing tools.

Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data. Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact. Perform all design activities ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations. Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for projects. Provide technical advice to clients regarding design, construction, or capital program modifications. Support of the field activities of our construction inspection staff, including providing timely data, shop drawing review, and client coordination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
· Experience working with one or more of the PennDOT Districts.
· Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission experience.
· Experience working with one or more PA Counties (Counties in the Pittsburgh region a plus).
· Knowledge in Microstation/Auto Cadd and proficiency in Microstation Inroads/Civil 3D
· Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of Auto Tab, ASTA Power Project (scheduling).
· Knowledge of PennDOT design process including Design Manuals 1-5.
· Knowledge of Storm Water Management (SWM) design.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
