Emrgy provides clean energy generation by placing hydrokinetic turbines in canals. This is a multi-billion dollar opportunity in North America alone. The Company’s 5-20 kW, modular hydropower turbines integrate flexibly into megawatt scale arrays within existing canals to generate continuous renewable electric power using innovative hardware and software technology. Emrgy’s distributed hydropower solution embodies the same attributes that have made the wind and solar power industries grow exponentially over the past several decades: modularity and flexibility. Emrgy is preparing for significant sales with committed municipal and utility customers in 2021 as well as growing project development interest. This expansion builds upon four years of product engineering, over $6 million in Federally-sponsored R&D funding, a partnership with GE Renewables, and growing customer engagements.

Emrgy is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to assist in managing the planning and processes of a project to ensure the project is completed efficiently and successfully. The projects may be customer projects or internal projects to support product development or the commercial team. The Junior Project Engineer will work under the guidance of a Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer but will be relied upon for cross functional coordination necessary for a successful project.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates across functions to create a project execution plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
• Completes site assessment studies as required to support project development and sales.
• Analyzes equipment, material, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
• Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
• Provide on-site installation training, quality oversight and commissioning support for customer projects.
• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project costs by tracking / approving expenditures and administering subcontractor contracts.
• Compares the actual cost to estimated costs and prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
• Confirms system performance by designing and conducting performance tests per contract requirements.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, policies as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related discipline
• 1-3+ years of project experience in construction, preferably in energy or light industrial
• Proficiency with MS Project and the MS Office Suite of tools, 3D modeling and CAD software
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

The purpose of this position is to plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwide. This role has the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project. Performing assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this entry-level position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience. This role learns about and applies established procedures and techniques in accomplishment of work activities.

•Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems

•Supports efforts of technical disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements
•Support design efforts with vendors and licensors to ensure proper and complete integration
•Participate in worksharing in accordance with distributed execution plan among multiple offices
•Other duties as assigned


Basic Job Requirements


•Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
•Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
•Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
•Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
•Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner


Preferred Qualifications


•Minimum of three (3) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a basic understanding of procedures and interfaces
•Customer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company's needs
•Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills
•Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and task
•Proactive reporting of progress and accomplishments of assignments and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments
•Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions
•Technical writing skills
•Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management tools
•Certification in project management suggested, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)

•Continue development by undertaking required in-house project management courses
•Utilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project execution
•May participate at vendor trade shows and become familiar with the new technologies and industry business direction

Lead in preparation of as-builts, technical and maintenance manuals and final documentation 11. As required, preparation of project status reports and schedules

Qualifications and Skills:
1. Degree in Engineering discipline required; professional registration is helpful 2. 1-year + experience in engineering or manufacturing process and/or packaging preferred 3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 4. Leadership qualities for operating in team environments 5. Ability to manage more than one project simultaneously 6. Depth of knowledge in the chosen engineering field 7. Good understanding of other engineering fields 8. Self-starter with high motivation 9. Proficient with Microsoft software applications 10. Ability and willingness to learn new software 11. Ability and willingness to travel
