Junior systems engineer job description

As a Junior Systems Engineer with Rewards Network, you will be responsible for the patching of server infrastructure, network hardware and configuration and will take part in the ongoing design, assessment, and maintenance of all our Information Technology infrastructure. This position will be required to work independently and with other teams to accomplish our company goals. Additionally, you will be accountable for patch testing, documentation, communication and compliance requirements. What you'll do with us:Provide support and maintain operational health of system and networking architecture.Coordinate routine Windows patching deployments as well as scheduled Linux/Unix deployments.Implementation of hardware and software solutions both on premise and in the cloud.Management of user accounts and Active Directory.Installation of software and system/security patches.Assist in vulnerability testing, threat analyses, and security checks (Security Assessments).Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any system issues resulting from patching, security standard implementation, HW and SW upgrades.Collaborate with internal and external customers and teams to resolve issues and help integrate with existing pipelines and workflows.Analyzes trend data to identify potential patch related issues on various images and assists teams in troubleshooting to implement any resolutions/improvements needed for proactive resolution.Communicates patch management process and procedures, working practices, and changes to internal teams and customers.Updates and maintains enterprise patch maintenance windows with the business.Performs root cause analysis on failed components and basic troubleshooting and remediation.Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related experience.Minimum of 1 year of networking or system admin experienceA fundamental understanding of a LINUX or UNIX-based operating system.Basic knowledge of networking concepts Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work with cross-functional teams Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to communicate technical issues and translate into non-technical business reviews

We are seeking a
Junior System Engineer
to support Project Manager, Positioning Navigation and Timing (PM PNT) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) Support Services by providing administrative, business management, programmatic, contracting, information technology (IT), program management, engineering, logistics, test and evaluation (T E), training, operations, security, technology protection, foreign military sales, and acquisition and strategic planning services.


Roles/Responsibilities:


Responsible for performing the following:


Develop, implement, and maintain systems engineering processes and documents to support the PM PNT products. Attend PM PNT program reviews; attend IPT and working group meetings; and provide recommendations for system engineering, testing, and other improvements. Provide systems engineering support for classified and unclassified PM PNT products and documentation. Provide system engineering activities to manage, implement, conduct, review, and update documentation to integrate classified and unclassified PM PNT products with client systems on Army platforms. Review and provide inputs for acquisition documentation for staffing through PM PNT leadership. Support concept development, sensor design, system design, system architecture, hardware, software, and network integration, host platform integration, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, hardware and software validation support, experimentation and demonstration of PM PNT products. Provide input into the development of SOOs, SOWs, PWSs, performance specifications, associated solicitation documentation, and provide technical advice and assistance regarding proposal evaluation.



Requirements



A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Systems Engineering with 3 years' experience or a master's degree with 1 year experience in systems engineering for DoD systems. Provide required support to include direct system engineering, risk management, integrated master scheduling, and program management support. Current Secret Clearance.

SRC, Inc. is seeking a junior systems engineer. This position is part of a team of SETA supporting in the mission operations (MO) group. The position will have various SEassignments related to the integration of additional capabilities into the operational baseline and other activities in support of the customer MO office. In particular this position has responsibilities assisting the government in their management of a O&M contractor performing 24x7 operations for a critical intelligence mission. This includes supporting daily stand-up meetings, supporting problem report investigations or working on anomaly teams to drive out root cause for mission outages, understanding O&M schedules for maintenance and other critical operations.
Responsibilities

Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together, so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:


BS in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent) with 2 - 5 yrs of relevant experience or a Master's with 0 - 2 yrs of experience. Four years of additional relevant (space/satellite communications systems acquisitions) experience can be substituted. TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance required Must be a team player and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team as well as work independently with moderate supervision Good time management skills; ability to support multiple projects; ability to multi-task Excellent communication skills Must be proactive and forward leaning.
Desired Skills/Qualifications/Education:


BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science. Experience with Commercial/Government acquisition or operations of satellite/ground segment hardware/software or satellite based special communications field set hardware/software. Experience with RF based satellite communications. Basic understanding of space-based RF communications methods, hardware/software Experience with Digital Signal Processing and processing segment hardware/software systems and waveform development
