Position Purpose:
The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in the most professional way, ensuring that customers' needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickup and supply delivery. This role will always provide the highest level of customer service possible. They may also transport waste from either a Stericycle location or customer location to a transfer location or processing location.
All Company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics which includes inside and outside cameras. In addition, all vehicles are equipped with ELD (electronic logging device) and GPS (global positioning system).
Key Job Activities:
• Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' waste is picked up in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc. provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
• Follows routing software route schedule.
• May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day ensuring enough supplies are added.
• Required to unload trucks at various Stericycle and customer sites; including ensure securing of waste.
• Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day.
• Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations before transporting.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.
• Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the vehicle on a public highway.
• Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing.
• Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable
• Communicates with Stericycle Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc.
• Ensures that employee covering for specific route is aware of any situations outside the norm in order to provide the highest level of customer service.
• Reports any problems/issues with accounts to Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher before the close of business each day.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned trucks prior to leaving or closing for the day.
• Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
• Use of ELD (electronic logging device) and Geotab to log hours in accordance with DOT guidelines, if applicable.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Education: Preferred Education: in High School or EquivalentExperience (North America & LATAM):
• 6+ months of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
• Must be 21 years of age or older in route management.
• Valid standard driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED) route management.
• Stericycle welcomes non-native English speakers, as long as drivers can read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records as required by federal regulation.

Support the storage, and distribution of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for public health community events and mobile health clinics, ensuring the availability of necessary resources and materials.
Note any maintenance issues for Mobile Health Unit (MHU) and report them to the Deputy Director of HHS-Operations. Help maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles and MHU as directed, including interior and exterior.
Initiate the scheduling and deployment of Mobile Health Units to community outreach events when directed for community events, collaborating with Road and Bridge and PHEPR to provide essential services to those in need. Secure all necessary traffic & Parking permits for the mobile vehicle as appropriate.
Support, review, and process community event request forms from various divisions/programs and collaborate with internal teams to gather event requirements, equipment needs.
Schedule and attend site visits and walkthroughs of event venues to assess layout, equipment placement, and any potential logistical challenges. Identifies and addresses needs such as power sources, accessibility, safety measures, and emergency exits.
Depending on the outreach events schedule, it requires evening and weekend hours.
Ensure that all event related resources are in place one hour before the event begins. Coordinate the efficient breakdown of event infrastructure and equipment post-event and ensure the proper storage, maintenance, and inventory of event resources, ensuring they are ready for future use.
This is an essential position and will require participation in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED.
Two years of professional driving experience in large vehicles.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with other employees and the public.
Must be able to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Valid Texas Class B Driver License.
SALARY RANGE: $16.34 - $20.43 hourly based on qualifications

REPORTS TO: Human Services Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a minibus in the transportation of elderly, and/or physically, mentally and intellectually disabled individuals to and from designated locations. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including but not limited to random testing in accordance with the Federal Transit Administration and the Department of Transportation drug and alcohol regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates a minibus on a designated schedule; picks up clients on time and delivers them to their destination safely and within reasonable time frame; makes arrangements with clients for return pickup times and locations.
Collects daily fares, records monies collected and submits them to the appropriate designated personnel on a daily basis.
Performs pre-trip inspections of paratransit vehicle for mechanical and safety issues prior to beginning scheduled run to ensure proper operating condition of vehicle and on-board equipment.
Maintains various records to include, but not limited to, client usage sheets including client name, address and destination and vehicle check off lists including mileage and tire pressure.
Physically assists clients boarding and exiting the minibus or otherwise needing assistance, including operating the wheelchair lift and on-board restraints and securements, and ensuring the passenger is properly secured.
Performs general maintenance and upkeep on the minibus to include cleaning and sanitation of the interior of the bus as well as cleaning and maintenance of the outside to include washing and oil checks. Informs office personnel or fleet maintenance of any necessary repairs and maintenance needed on the bus to facilitate safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.

Assists passengers with carrying purchases/equipment according to department policy.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for safely transporting material from clients to be picked up and delivered in a safe, effective, timely manner to appropriate locations and in compliance with all company, federal, state and local regulations/policies and DOT requirements. Comply with all DOT regulations, including timely and accurate submission of Driver Daily Logs, completion of a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and thorough compliance with all applicable Federal, Company, and Local laws pertaining to motor carriers.

Perform daily inspection and required preventative maintenance on assigned tractor and trailer/tanker.

This position is responsible for the delivery of meals in bulk to the meal sites and delivery of home delivered meals to home bound clients. The responsibility includes completing one on one contact/wellness check with the client and report back to DHM caseworkers if there are any concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the delivery of meals, raw food, and other supplies to meal sites on route assigned in a timely and safe manner.
Assisting with packing the meals if arriving early for shift.
Responsible for the delivery of Home Deliver Meals to clients on assigned routes in timely and a safe manner and never to leave a meal unless one on one contact has been established with the client.
Work closely with packing area and count your meals daily to ensure you have the correct hot meals, frozen meals and supplies for your route.
Responsible for notifying the HDM department (each time) when a client does not answer the door for meal delivery to ensure prompt follow up for client's safety.
Responsible for daily walk around inspection of vehicle prior to driving and reporting of any repairs needed to your supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining and operating company vehicles in a safe manner.
Responsible for reporting any incidents/accidents including confrontation with clients/clients' family members.
Accident report and post-accident required testing must be completed within 2 hours of the accident.
Responsible to report to HR (within 24 hours) of any traffic tickets or suspension of the driver's license. Responsible for providing updated drivers' license each time it gets renewed or updated.
Responsible for completing trip logs accurately, including miles driven gas purchases and receipts and submitting them in a timely manner as requested.
Responsible for returning bags and meal carriers to proper location; items from vehicle.
Responsible for keeping and cleaning small cart in vehicle. Large loading carts should be returned to the appropriate place.
Represent the agency professional manner, speech and dress
All other duties depending on agency needs as assigned by the Supervisor, Director and/or Lifescape Administration.
Must be able to drive and navigate with the use of map, directions, or GPS.
Must be able to move 50 lbs. on a daily basis for bulk delivery.
Must be organized and have the ability to count accurately.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must be able to adapt to schedule changes and unforeseen circumstance.
Must be able to work in cold and hot environments.
