We are hiring a Part-Time Chef de Partie (Line Cook) to provide support during events and busy weekends. A Chef de Partie (Line Cook) is responsible for all culinary dishes prepared in their section. A successful individual must be very knowledgeable about their specialty, organized, and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment. A Chef de Partie must also be able to give orders within their section and reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
This is a part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) that will be scheduled as needed to cover events and busy weekends. Work days, hours, and duties will vary based on business needs and the event location.
Job Description
Assist with preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for Lunch Service, Dinner Service, Events, Banquets and Pastry as needed
Assistance in various areas such as mise en place preparation, managing action stations during buffets, and aiding with plating in the restaurant
Provide support with any preparation projects
Prepare tasting room cheese plates
Assist with daily kitchen prep work and station set-up before service and maintain the highest quality food preparation standards
Follow strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen and troubleshoot any problems that may arise
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in a fine dining, high-volume restaurant
Availability to work weekends, any shift (morning or evening), and at any location (JUSTIN Estate, JUSTIN Downtown, Banquets, etc.)
Serv-Safe Certified
Passionate about food and wine
Demonstrated strong ability to work well under pressure
Ability to establish direction, obtain commitment and execute appropriate logistical processes
Exceptional attention to detail and must thrive in a fast-paced working environment
Have a calm and approachable demeanor
Must be able to perform basic calculations such as adding, subtracting and dividing
Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour. Final compensation is dependent upon skills and experience.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED and/or a culinary apprenticeship or an AOS degree from a culinary institution is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
* Must possess a knowledge of sanitation and quality food preparation techniques.

* Position requires bending, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds, will be required to use, push and pull wheeled hand-carts or other equipment weighing in excess of 100 lbs.
* Will regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the waist. May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids, pet or service animals, and strong odors.
* Will regularly be exposed to tobacco and other second hand smoke.
* May occasionally use de-escalation techniques to resolve customer conflict.
* Will be required to assist in customer evacuation in case of emergency.
