    Job Description The Program Aid/Driver provides support to the Program Director, Activity Coordinator, and RN across all facets of the ADHC program. This includes aiding in scheduling, attendance tracking, and managing nutritional aspects of the program. They contribute to coordinating and overseeing arts & crafts activities, recreational events, music therapy, and addressing personal hygiene requirements. Additionally, the Program Aide/Van Driver assists in maintaining accurate records of the daily activities within the ADHC program. Depending on their specific responsibilities, daily oversight of the Program Aides may be assigned by the Director to either the Activity Coordinator or the ADHC Program Nurse. Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Program Administrator, Nurse, and Activity Coordinator of ADHC, under the guidance of the Activities Coordinator, and maintains direct reporting to the Director, covering all facets of care. Contributes to the nutritional component of the program by reporting lunch meal quantities, monitoring participant intake, and addressing any eating challenges. Assumes responsibility for the preparation and service of snacks and meals. Program Aides provide assistance to participants when cutting food is required and offer feeding support when necessary. Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen area after meal service. Ensures the verification and documentation of food temperatures upon arrival at the center, maintaining appropriate levels consistently. Offers assistance with various aspects of personal hygiene, aiding the RN in maintaining continence and toileting schedules, and facilitating clothing changes as needed. Participates in the execution and supervision of arts and crafts projects and recreational activities. Manages inventory for all supplies and consumables in the program, encompassing art supplies, personal hygiene materials, paper goods for meals and snacks, as well as snack foods. Notifies the Activity Coordinator of inventory requirements. Contributes to the organization and execution of special events for the ADHC. Assists participants during arrival and departure, ensuring their safe transition to their respective transportation providers. Assumes accountability for program implementation and the safety of all participants. Reports any complaints or concerns related to staff, volunteers, or participants directly to the Program Director. Works in close collaboration with the Nurse and Rehabilitation Staff to implement any maintenance programs. Operates the company van for participant transportation needs, encompassing pick-up and drop-off as necessary. Communicates vehicle maintenance requirements to the Director through the daily “Vehicle Maintenance Log.” Undertakes marketing tasks as assigned by the Program Director. Participate in JWCH's customer service training called AIDET on an annual basis. Demonstrate an understanding of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) to apply in patient encounters or team discussions. Utilize the AIDET communication framework to communicate with patients and team members in a manner that reduces patient anxiety, increases patient compliance, and improves clinical outcomes. Other duties assigned. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of two years' experience working in an adult day care center or a related field. Training in activities for the elderly or certification as a nurse's aide. Maintains a valid California Driver's License. Exhibits familiarity with Safety, Fire, Infection Control, and Mandatory Reporting requirements. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of challenges faced by the frail elderly. Sensitivity toward elderly individuals with impairments and their caregivers. Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers and other team members, while also taking initiative. Possession of a High School Diploma. Certification as a Nurse's Aide or Medical Assistant preferred Strongly recommended completion of a 36-hour Activity Certificate preferred. Physical capability to consistently lift at least 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. The New Beginning Program, is dedicated to providing Interim Housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, guiding them towards recovery and an enhanced quality of life. It's important to note that some individuals in the program may also grapple with mental health and substance abuse issues, which can manifest in challenging behaviors such as yelling, cussing, and angry outbursts. At New Beginning, every staff member, including the Site Monitor, contributes to assisting clients in overcoming barriers and enhancing coping skills to reduce negative behaviors, fostering a successful transition to Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). Working under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Site Monitor actively participates in a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to client engagement, retention, safety, and support. In this capacity, the position collaborates with both staff and clients as an integral care team member, building rapport and cultivating a sense of community within the program. New Beginning's Interim Housing program is designed to support homeless individuals on their journey to recovery and an improved quality of life. By understanding and addressing mental health and substance abuse issues, we aim to guide our clients toward positive behavioral changes and successful integration into Permanent Supportive Housing. Principal Responsibilities: Performs job functions as prescribed by established policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training, and responsibilities. Establish a positive rapport with clients and express a concern for their well-being. Demonstrate understanding and practice harm reduction methods and trauma-informed care. Demonstrate non-violent restraint methods, if needed and only as an absolute last resort. Monitor the site by walking corridors as assigned, and or being rotated. Assist with clients' room searches and/or temperature control, as needed. Act as site lead during fire drills and real emergencies, and as lead in performing necessary evacuations. Attend each shift change and contribute accordingly. Document any client and/or client-staff incidents and submit to supervisor in a timely manner. Use appropriate de-escalation techniques; Case Manager for assistance, as needed. Demonstrate understanding and awareness of substance abuse and/or negative behavioral health symptoms. Provide supportive communication regarding incarceration, substance abuse, mental health, and other risk behaviors. Must be able to work extended shifts when emergency situations warrant in a 24 hour 7 day a week setting. On occasion will need to work an additional 4 hours after regular shift or 4 hours before the regular shift if situation warrants. Flexibility to adjust with a multiple schedule change, shift change, and days off. The work schedule is subject to change periodically based on the number of Care Team Specialists.     Job Description The JWCH- Wesley Health Centers Mobile Dental Unit Driver is responsible for providing customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate, delivery of the JWCH mobile dental units to designated locations within regional territories of Los Angeles County in order to promote our objectives of empowering children to practice good oral health, partnering with government and the profession to improve children's oral health, and reducing the prevalence of dental caries worldwide. This position is located in Los Angeles area. JWCH Mobile Dental Unit Drivers are ambassadors who represent JWCH - Wesley Health Centers to our consumer base. They are the point of contact and liaison for JWCH - Wesley Health Centers visits in a range of venues, including schools, colleges, Health fairs, conventions, festivals, and other community events. They are empowered to resolve customer issues to ensure consistent demonstration of service excellence and community outreach. Principal Responsibilities: Operate and safely drive the Mobile Dental Unit (up to 32') over the road, which includes navigating in crowds and following parameters set by sponsoring agencies of event locations. Must be flexible to work various hours and weekends based on the schedule of the event and organizational needs. Perform daily setup of the Mobile Dental Unit at scheduled locations. This includes setting up the mobile unit, cleaning, and restocking supplies. Provide effective customer service as the "first point-of-contact" to dental partners, event coordinators, volunteers, and the public, which may include answering basic JWCH - Oral Health Department program information, answering logistics questions, and directing inquiries/media requests to designated representatives.     Job Description Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time We are seeking dedicated primary care/addiction medicine physicians to join a multidisciplinary, inter-agency team at two multi-service Harm Reduction Health Hubs in Skid Row, Los Angeles. These hubs are designed to provide holistic care for people experiencing street homelessness and who use drugs. The physician will be primarily responsible for direct patient care but will also have the opportunity to take on a leadership role in implementing clinical programs aimed at reducing overdose and other drug-related harms, sexually transmitted and other communicable diseases, harms related to interpersonal violence, mental health crises, self-harm, and accidental injury. The physician will provide transitional primary care, urgent care, and substance use disorder-related care in a low-barrier, open-access outpatient clinic and a ~20-bed short-term community respite space. On-site clinical and social services are rooted in the ethos of harm reduction and trauma-informed care. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to providing non-judgmental, patient-centered care to marginalized communities and individuals with complex medical and psychosocial histories, including people experiencing homelessness, those who use drugs, engage in sex work, and/or have been incarcerated. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive health evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients experiencing homelessness with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Provide patient care at various locations on campus (exam rooms, community respite, drop-in spaces, outdoor areas, etc.) and perform episodic street-based care. Manage acute and chronic illnesses common in our patient population, including heart failure, other cardiovascular conditions, hepatitis C, HIV, STIs, and complex chronic wounds. Manage acute intoxication (alcohol, opioids, stimulants), non-life-threatening withdrawal syndromes, post-overdose care, and short-term recuperation following discharge from the ED or hospital (during 12-72 hour respite stays). Initiate and manage medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, with emphasis on sublingual and long-acting injectable buprenorphine for opioid use disorder. Collaborate with nurses, behavioral health specialists, case managers, social workers, and staff from other on-site partner organizations to provide integrated care. Counsel patients on harm reduction strategies, including overdose prevention, safer drug use practices, drug testing, and naloxone distribution. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Provide direct supervision and consultation to mid-level (NP/PA) providers per organizational protocols, including monthly review and sign-off of a select number of charts. Qualifications & Requirements: Current and unrestricted California Physician & Surgeon License Current and unrestricted California DEA registration. Current BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Current and unrestricted NPI enrollment. Strong understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and community public health. Experience treating and managing medications for opioid, alcohol, and stimulant use disorders. Comfort in caring for people with severe, complex medical and psychiatric comorbidities. Willingness to work in non-traditional settings, including comfort with episodic street outreach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to serving vulnerable and marginalized populations. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Preferred Qualifications: American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) certification Experience in homeless healthcare or street-based medicine.
