Retail Wine and Spirits Sales Specialist
K&L Wine Merchants is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced wine and/or spirits sales professional to become our Retail Sales Specialist for our premium store in Redwood City. This position is ideal for a passionate, experienced wine professional with deep product knowledge as well as great people skills and proven leadership ability. They will be a leader on the sales floor engaging customers, modeling exceptional service and mentoring colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide exceptional service to every customer, every time.
Act as manager-on-duty in the absence of General and/or Sales manager.
Independently open and close the store.
Troubleshoot complex orders and transactions.
Mentor and assist in training new hires.
Act as a point of escalation for customer service issues.
Participate in all daily sales floor activities, including point-of-sale transactions, merchandising, and order fulfillment/retrieval.
Develop and maintain the highest level of product knowledge in order to make informed sales recommendations.
Act as liaison to an assigned category within the store; develop expertise in the category and keep it well merchandised.
Write product reviews for K&L's website, newsletter, and blog
Attend staff education sessions and on/offsite events as requested
REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years' experience in a retail or other customer-facing environment with some leadership responsibility
Positive attitude - no task is too small or too large
Excellent communicator with a passion for people
Full-time non-exempt position; at least one weekend day required
Proficient in Office 365, comfortable using point-of-sale and handheld technology
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours each day
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and kneel frequently
Ability to load, unload, and operate a hand truck safely
Bachelor's degree preferred

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery & Customer Service
Deliver wine and spirits to customers using a company vehicle
Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules using a mobile device
Verify recipient proof of age for every delivery
Provide courteous, professional, and consistent customer service
Load, unload, and secure product safely during deliveries
Retail Operations & Warehouse Support
Fulfill web orders and in-store/curbside pickup orders
Check in, receive, and stow product deliveries and inventory transfers
Consolidate and organize paid customer orders in will-call areas
Pack and organize delivery orders accurately
Process credit card payments for completed orders
Maintain and resolve problem orders (missing items, payment issues, etc.)

Operate as a back-up driver for local deliveries as needed
Work closely with the Retail Operations Manager to ensure a safe, organized facility

person is responsible for driving sales through education and support of the Sephora Stores in their territory, as well as fostering Beauty Advisor love of MAKE UP FOR EVER and positive brand perception.
What You'll Do:
SALES
Achieve sales objective through consumer selling and driving conversion
Develop and execute sales strategy for specific regions
Drive conversion through coaching, negotiating, in store sales and resources to support promotional activities
Demonstrate solid understanding of sales, product knowledge, events, operations and Sephora environment
Create and oversee event execution, using territory field sales insight to influence schedule optimization
Provide weekly sales performance /productivity, event activity and field need feedback to Regional Manager
Build and maintain strong working relationships within Sephora and build Beauty Advisor love
Gondola Management: Observe, investigate, facilitate and follow-through on all aspects of Gondola, including Inventory and Visual Merchandising.
Obtain, understand, and act on Assortment Cycle Count (ACCR) Reports
Partner with Store Teams to ensure gondola is always fully stocked
Partner with Sephora to develop and execute innovative in-store events
Communicate sales goals and client engagement strategy
Maximize selling staff's productivity thru clear goal setting, schedule optimization and overall goal management
Proactively identify inventory/stock issues that may impact business
Follow individual scheduling guidelines when set by Sephora and ensure internal alignment
Maintain individual in store bookings via Sephora's Happening Now system
EDUCATION AND ARTISTRY
Be an outstanding role model for education and artistry skill and lead by example
Execute training objectives set by Education and Sales Leadership
Ensure Sephora cast is well-versed in brand messaging, differentiation and assortment
Provide feedback to ensure effective delivery of sales techniques to maintain and acquire new customers
Deliver brand trainings to dedicated and department-wide Sephora teams on selling, product knowledge, service experiences, and artistry based on curriculum set by Education and Sales leadership
ADMINISTRATIVE
One office day per month to manage reporting of sales, training trackers and other reports as needed
Strategically build quarterly calendars with SEE in Outlook
