Under direct supervision, performs routine food preparation, tray assembly, serving duties & delivery according to prescribed production schedules & established procedures. Responsible for maintaining sanitation of food service work areas and/or food service stations.

- Ensures quality & appearance of all food & non-food items, ensures proper storage of food & non- food items following Hazard Analysis Critical Control Policy (HACCP) guidelines.
- Cleans, sanitizes & maintains all dishes, food delivery carts, equipment, work areas, & pantry food stations.
- Maintains proper stock levels in own work area including taking & filing of inventory & disposal of outdated foods.
- Utilizes effective communications including telephone conversations w/ patients, doctors, & members, vendors, staff, & co-workers.
- Collects & maintains written information including logs, menus, slips, charts, forms, requisitions, filing & scheduling activities.
- May provide training & orientation.

STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Food Service/Prep Aide shall assist the cook in the preparation and presentation of food. He/she will be responsible for the dishwashing area and the cleanliness of all dishes, silverware, and glassware, and will assist in other areas of the dining operation as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare food items as requested
Portion and plate salads and desserts
Assist with cleaning of kitchen, (including floors) and kitchen equipment
Set up and run dishwashing operation, keeping the dishwasher clean and free of debris. Clean pots and pans as needed
Check water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipment
Take out all garbage
Assist with dining room service as needed, e.g. pouring beverages
Replace paper towels and clean hand sink

Required to serve meals and direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
Prepare various foods in accordance with menu created by the chef and dietitians, for each meal of the day.
Wash, peel, cut and seed vegetables and fruit.
Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry and seafood.
Weigh and measure designated ingredients for recipe.
Prepare and label salads, fresh fruit trays, desserts, lunch items according to menu, and other side dishes.
Prepare items according to dinner menu and next day's menu (soup, baking, etc.).
Operate kitchen equipment in preparation for meals.
Required to clean work areas and floors and cover, label, date and store unused foods.

Starting payrate at $14.50 per hour No previous experience in food service is required--we're looking for people with excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work as a part of a team.
We provide company paid ServSafe certification and CPR/FA, along with uniforms and work shoes.

Requirements:
* Minimum high school diploma or GED
* Be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
* Ability to walk and stand for the majority of each shift.
Shifts hiring for:
* Full Time 12:00 noon to 8:30pm with every other weekend shifts.
* Requiring 1 hire for this position
* Expected start date is as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
* Greet residents upon arrival and serve them in a timely manner.
* Assure dining room is cleaned and stocked.
* Wash and sanitize dishes and equipment.
* Handle food in a safe and sanitary manner according to local and state guidelines.
* Communicate suggestions from residents to managers.
* Assist in meal preparation.
* Attend in-service trainings and department meetings.
