Job Overview

• Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide individual, family, and group therapy
• Deliver brief and longer-term evidence-based interventions targeting trauma, mental health symptoms, coping skills, and substance use
• Collaborate with primary care providers to support comprehensive treatment plans
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
• Coordinate referrals for specialty mental health and substance use treatment
• Provide crisis intervention, including psychiatric emergencies and urgent consultations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct psychosocial assessment of patient and develop an effective treatment plan that applies therapeutic principles appropriately while ensuring patient safety at all times.
Through patient observation and patient/family interview obtaining information on the patient's needs, skills, interests and limitations for the development and implementation of the treatment plan.
Provide crisis intervention and assist families in understanding the implications and complexities of a life situation and its impact on lifestyle.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meeting to discuss psychosocial assessment, treatment planning and ongoing discharge planning.
Identify, assess and coordinate patient cases and anticipate their needs related to illness, hospitalization, finances, education and home/community services.

Job Overview
The Clinician applies psychological/counseling principles in the following areas: assessment, clinical interventions, research, training, case management, consultation, supervises non-licensed staff, and program development. The clinician is involved in integrating behavioral health services into a primary care setting. Responsibilities will include diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning. The clinician provides a variety of interventions, such as individual, group, child, and family therapy. Interventions will focus on short-term problem-solving therapy, short-term cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, coping skills, substance abuse treatment, behavior modification, case consultations, and other evidence-based practice techniques. The clinician is a member of a multidisciplinary team that includes medical providers, nursing staff, medical support staff, case managers, administrators, managers, and directors. The clinician collaborates with the patient to define the treatment goals and measures of success of treatment by utilizing evidence-based outcome measures. The clinician attends various conferences/workshops concerning mental health treatment, and may be involved in several research studies or multidisciplinary projects.
Minimum Requirements
* Professional Licensure as a Licensed ClinicalSocialWorker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the California Behavioral Science Board.
* Master's level degree required.
* Minimum 1 year of experience working with children, and minimum one year of clinical experience for LCSW.
* A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
* Bilingual English/Spanish or English and other predominant language of the population served preferred.

Job Description Summary:

Complete legal paperwork to purse involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations and probate court guardianship hearings. Collaborate with hospital attorney and testify when required.
Specialized knowledge of chronic illness and the impact on patient mental health.
Knowledge of community service organizations (i.e. CMH, DHHS, shelters, transportation, etc.) and the types of assistance they provide.
Work by consult (i.e., physician, RN, patient, family, etc.).
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and provides necessary report to advance patient care.
Collaborates with other members of the patient care team to understand each situation from different perspectives and recommends or provides immediate treatment and solution focused interventions.
Identifies needs, develops plan of care, and makes referrals to community agencies and other healthcare specialists and plans for patient discharge to ensure the appropriate follow-up treatment and support is available and provided to support a safe discharge.

How You Will Contribute:
The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. Position is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and for developing appropriate treatment. Qualifications
What We Are Seeking
Position requires a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology. Must hold CA licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC), active associate number or intern number from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, in good standing. Position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience working with clients with substance use disorders and/or borderline personality disorder. Certification or significant experience in providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strongly preferred.
Other Requirements
Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.

We are currently seeking a licensed SocialWorker (LMSW) to serve as an Intake Therapist within our Adult Behavioral Health Urgent Care team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide critical assessments and support services in a dynamic setting, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate part-time or full-time arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to identify individual needs, preferences, and service requirements. Ensure timely documentation of assessments within 48 hours.
Gather information from diverse sources, including self-reports, family members, guardians, medical records, and assessments from multidisciplinary providers.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to evaluate consumers' readiness and motivation for change, fostering engagement and collaboration.
Provide clear, accurate information regarding available services and supports to consumers, families, and guardians to facilitate informed decision-making.
Assist clients in initiating person-centered planning, aligned with best practices such as Person-Centered Planning, Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment, and current Medicaid guidelines.
Develop Safety Plans based on identified risks and needs to promote client safety and well-being.
Identify clients requiring further evaluation and coordinate referrals for psychological testing, discovery groups, or specialized assessments as needed.
Promote the use of group services, support groups, and community resources to enhance client outcomes.
Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations to ensure quality of care and professional growth.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all face-to-face and telephonic contacts, respecting deadlines and protocols.
Adhere to state licensure requirements, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
Engage in continuous professional development through annual training (minimum of 25 hours).
Collaborate with team members to meet productivity standards and contribute to a positive work environment.
Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical conduct in all interactions.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Current Michigan licensure as a Licensed Master SocialWorker (LMSW) or equivalent credential.
Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health assessments, or crisis intervention is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational interviewing skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing learning.
Work Schedule & Hours:
Evenings, Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm - 12:00 am; Fridays 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
Possibility of Saturday hours (9:00 am - 2:00 pm) based on program needs.
Flexible part-time hours available; full-time applicants are also encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience, typically ranging from $29.47 to $39.88, in accordance with grant specifications.
