Why This Role Matters The Emergency Department is often the first point of contact for patients during some of the most stressful moments of their lives. As an ED Tech, you'll help create a calm, organized, and supportive environment while ensuring patients receive timely, respectful, and safe care. What You'll Do In this hands-on role, you'll support clinical operations and patient care by: Demonstrating professionalism, civility, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in every interaction Supporting the Triage Nurse by greeting patients and families, maintaining clear communication, answering phones, and directing individuals appropriately Collecting and entering patient information and vital signs into the EMR Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked triage area and waiting room Monitoring and communicating critical changes in patient condition to the appropriate nurse Operating and maintaining equipment according to departmental and safety standards Performing supply stocking and outdate checks with attention to cost-effective resource use Upholding patient rights related to diversity, privacy, and confidentiality Maintaining competency in Emergency Department-specific skills and responsibilities Complying with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and EMTALA standards Duties may vary based on departmental needs, but all work supports safe, compliant, and patient-centered care.
