The institute is proud of its membership in the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design, which is a group of leading art schools throughout the county. The institute's academics consist of BFA programs in an array of disciplines, including: * Art History * Creative Writing * Digital Filmmaking * Graphic Design * Illustration To foster a sense of community among the student body, the institute automatically enters all admitted students into the Student Assembly, which not only sponsors most campus activities, but serves as a link between students and KCAI administrative faculty as well. They will be able to gain leadership skills as they decide how to distribute funds to different student groups and help coordinate school events. A variety of student groups are available to join, which will allow you to enhance your college life by participating in extracurricular activities. From the Sculpture Club to Christian organizations, you will be able to find your niche. KCAI determines admissions according to an applicant's drawing, coloring and design skills, willingness to learn and take artistic risks, and letters of recommendation. Students can apply via the KCAI website. Merit-based scholarships are available to qualifying students. Additional forms of KCAI financial aid include Perkins loans, direct student loans, Missouri Financial Assistance grants and Pell grants.
