Confer with Production Manager and Production Control to establish work schedules and follow up to assure completion of those schedules. Assure that equipment and tools are properly maintained to assure efficient production. Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices. Cross train Group Leaders. Oversee use and update of SOS's. Suggest and support affective scrap and cost reduction programs. Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers. Oversee cleanliness and order of equipment on the line. Oversee and monitor employees' attendance and hours worked. Participate in ongoing performance management including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases and necessary corrective action. Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Some previous management experience. Manufacturing environment helpful, but not required. Skills: Ability to process thorough and organized paperwork. Strong interpersonal skills. Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Other: Must be able and capable to work any shift assigned, and must be able to work overtime as required. Work Environment This job operates primarily in a manufacturing environment, where the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands The employee frequently is required to stand or walk for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
