Kaspar Wire Works company history timeline

1898

In 1898 he began the full-time manufacture of wire baskets and horse muzzles.

1902

August decided in 1902 to sell his products in stores rather than horse-and-buggy home deliveries.

1924

Arthur H. Kaspar, son of the founder, purchased the business in 1924.

1930

The manufacturing plant spans 550,000 square feet over our 40-acre headquarters, expanding around the original “Kaspar Wire Works” building from 1930.

1937

In 1937, a brainstorming session between Kaspar Wire Works’s Arthur Kaspar and Perry Warmath resulted in the invention of the shopping cart.

1949

In 1949 a grandson, Don G. Kaspar, joined the organization.

1956

By 1956, Arthur’s son, Don Kaspar, had joined the family business and was working with his father to invent a solution for a problem in the newspaper industry.

1967

The growth and success of Kaspar Wire Works was officially recognized in 1967 by the bestowal of the first annual Governor's Expansion Award under the auspices of the Texas Industrial Commission.

1995

Thus, Sho-Rack, the leading newspaper rack brand throughout its 60 years of existence, came to be. It was 1995 when Kaspar Wire Works’s Doug Kaspar and Paul Morkovsky were introduced to electrocoagulation technology.

2007

Transformed by Transition The year 2007 marks our transition into the fifth generation of Kaspar family involvement.

2015

In 2015, our company experienced a significant restructuring under the direction of the fourth and fifth generations.
