Before Katerra, Paal held a variety of global senior management positions at Schlumberger Limited including chairman and CEO; COO; president of the Reservoir Characterization Group; vice president of engineering, manufacturing and sustaining; and vice president of human resources. Earlier in his Schlumberger career, Paal was geomarket manager for the Caspian region after holding various field positions in sales and marketing, and customer support. A petroleum engineer with a master’s degree from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Paal began his career in 1992 working for ExxonMobil. He was named best CEO in Oilfield Services and Equipment by Institutional Investor Magazine for four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019.

Krishna Shivram is the CFO of Katerra, overseeing all the financial functions of the company.

Krishna has over 31 years of experience spread across financial and management positions in the oil and gas industry in the United States, Middle East, Europe and India.

Prior to joining Katerra, he was the CEO of Sentinel Energy Services Inc, a special purpose acquisition company that had a successful IPO in November 2017, raising $345 million of capital. Prior to that, Krishna served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Weatherford International PLC from November 2016 to March 2017 and as the Chief Financial Officer from November 2013 to November 2016.

Krishna’s career also includes a 25-year tenure at Schlumberger Limited, holding positions such as Vice President and Treasurer, Controller and Head of M&A from February 1988 to October 2013. Up until the time he joined Schlumberger in 1988, Krishna held positions with public accounting firms Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young.

Krishna is a Chartered Accountant and sits on the Board of Directors of Ranger Energy Services. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Mumbai University.

Lawrence is Chief Technology Officer at Katerra, overseeing development of technologies that aim to deliver new levels of value, affordability, sustainability and predictability to projects in the AEC industry.

Previously, Lawrence held roles spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, product marketing, information technology and quality management during a 22-year career with Schlumberger. Most recently, he was GeoMarket Manager for China and North Asia, Drilling Systems Product Group Manager, and Special Project Manager creating a new Operational Planning and Resource Management corporate function. Through these experiences, he developed a passion for creating and implementing operating systems to drive continuous improvement through process excellence and cross-functional teamwork. Lawrence holds degrees in electrical engineering, physics and mathematics from Rice University.
