Dr. Lance Smith brings a rare combination of business and academic experience to his role as Imagine Software's CEO, with more than 25 years of direct involvement in trading and risk management practices, mathematical modeling, and system development. Before co-founding Imagine in 1993, he began his business career in 1986 as a Salomon Brothers vice president, gaining diverse business experience in mathematical modeling, proprietary trading strategies, structured products, and risk management methodologies. Dr. Smith holds a PhD in mathematics from Duke University, was awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and is a former assistant professor of mathematics at Columbia University.
