Cognitive Performance is an interdisciplinary field spanning kinesiology, psychology, and motor learning and control. The Special Operations Cognitive Performance Specialist shall train SOF personnel, with the priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel, to develop and use the cognitive skills necessary to perform optimally in training and operations. The contractor shall provide and perform the following services in support of POTFF's Physical program for SOF personnel: Essential Duties/Responsibilities: + Based on evidence-based peer-reviewed literature train and educate SOF personnel, in individual and group settings, in specific cognitive, mental, behavioral, psychosocial, perceptual, learning, adaptive thinking, human engagements, and emotional control skills, strategies - including understanding, acquisition, and retention - performance improvement and maintenance with documentation of work performed, implemented, and provided to SOF personnel. + Assist and advise the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator in matters relating to mental performance, exercise and sports psychology. + Provide information about mental performance, exercise and sports psychology factors in sports, exercise, and physical activity. + Train and educate on goal-setting , performance profiling, visualization, performance development, and planning. + Participate in periodic meetings to review human performance training provided to patients and identify opportunities for improvement. + Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required . + Collaborate with the HP staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of mental and human performance development and expertise delivered. + Conduct periodic literature reviews to ensure HP stays current with the provision of care. + Support research conducted under supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Assist the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing and maintaining practice guidelines to ensure consistency of service across all Human Performance Training Centers ( HPTCs ). + Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested by the HP program manager and/or c oordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff. + Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements. + Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions . Commands will allow for attendance at necessary conferences or courses to complete continuing education units required to maintain certification. + Document work performed, utilization , referrals, and all other information in the HP Enterprise - wide database (i.e., Smartbase ), as directed by HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff. Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training: + Position requires U.S. Citizenship. + This position requires a Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance , or the ability to obtain a clearance . + Master's degree (Doctoral degree preferred) in Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Neuroscience, Sport Sciences, Performance Psychology, Psychology, or mental health discipline with a specialization in Performance Psychology . + Must have a minimum of 3 years or more post-graduate degree of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as a cognitive performance practitioner or Sport Psychologist with military members, athletes, groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, tactical setting, or with individuals or groups requiring high levels of mental and physical performance (experience with Special Operations personnel preferred). + The contractor shall have a certificate of completion of training for heart rate variability (HRV) through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) or a relevant certification through BCIA . Or, the contractor will have at least 1 year of demonstrable experience delivering HRV training in a high performance setting and be willing to obtain the BCIA HRV certificate of completion for HRV within 12 months of hire. + The contractor may be required to receive and maintain cognitive enhancement certification as required by hiring unit , such as BCIA biofeedback certification. + Must be capable to properly lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms and capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments and on various fixed or rotary wing aircraft, waterborne craft, or ground transport to observe SOF training evolutions and to conduct training and education. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance. + Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocols for SOF personnel in garrison, TDY /TAD, or deployment, under the supervision of the HP program manager and/or coordinator. + Coordinate training programs with the HP staff to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of SOF personnel recovering from injury. + Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment. + Communicate and collaborate with sports medicine professionals and/or bridge coordinator to ensure a smooth transition from rehabilitation to performance based activities. Will also collaborate with mental performance and performance nutrition to ensure a holistic approach to human performance. + Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing facility standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment. + Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs and identify opportunities for improvement. If a meeting occurs outside of regular working hours -unable to attend a meeting, the SCS is responsible for reviewing the information disseminated in meetings. + Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the HP staff and/or POTFF staff as appropriate . + Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions. Commands will allow attendance at the necessary conferences or courses to complete the continuing education units required to maintain professional certifications. + Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of utilization , workload, conducting or participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions. + Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Assist with supply inventories and provide input regarding supply needs for the HP program. + Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff. + Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements. + Advise the chain of command and/or HP program manager and/or coordinator on strength and conditioning, administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests. Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training: + Position requires U.S. Citizenship. + Must have a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one. + Bachelor's Degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline. + Possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association ( NSCA ) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified ( SCCC ) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association ( CSCCa ). Maintenance of one of these certifications shall be an enduri ng element of the requirement. + Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) of developing long and short-range planning and coordination of sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings. Paid full-time experience as a Government civilian or contract employee at US Army and/or Marine Corps Infantry Units, may be counted towards minimum qualification requirements, provided this experience was gained within the most recent, continuous 3 years, as a directly embedded staff member, on-site with respective Army and/or Marine Corp entities. + Fluent oral and written communication skills in English. + Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training. + Physical proficiency to demonstrate all prescribed exercises / techniques and to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments. + Must be able to lift and manipulate loads and weights up to 25 kilograms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Primarily responsible, under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, social worker, psychiatric nurse or psychologist, for providing a wide range of behavioral health interventions from prevention to treatment to individuals and who assigns work by defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and provides guidance on assignments that do not have clear precedents. * Under the supervision of a credentialed provider, conduct intakes, assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients, and counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems. * Accomplish work on a substantially independent basis, performing a full range of standard and nonstandard work assignments and resolving a variety of non-recurring problems encountered on own initiative. Ensure proper supply stock levels and reorder as necessary including specialized behavioral health forms and tests. * Duties also involve assisting or independently gathering data for various presentations such as process improvements initiatives, longitudinal statistical tracking, hospitalizations, and discharges. Required: * Must have, or be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. * An associate degree or commensurate level of training, e.g. military mental health technician, for a psychiatric technician or mental health program assistant. Education requirement may be met by military or comparable training. If military trained, the individual's specialty must be as a mental health technician / specialist. * The contractor shall have no less than 3 years' experience as a psychiatric technician. * Must attend psychiatric technicians' training which will provide a sound foundation / basis to psychology and/or social work to ensure the tech is prepared for the types of individuals and potential illnesses that they will likely deal with. In this role we are looking for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to work within a unit, on-site, as a Mental Health Counselor. You will be responsible for, but not limited to: + Implementing policies, conducts screenings, clinical counseling and case management services, and prevention programming. + Serve as a point of contact for behavioral health services for active-duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, their families, and others as authorized by DoD policy. + Provide a spectrum of behavioral health interventions, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidenced-based therapies in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders using the following skills: individual, family and group psychotherapy, couples therapy, alcohol, and drug treatment evaluations. + Plan, develop and implement programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure and unit connectedness. + Promote and maintain communication and harmonious working relationships within the unit, POTFF program, and other DoD and outside agencies. Education, Credentialing, Certification and Clearance requirements: + Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences and able to meet Credentialing and Privileging standards. + LMFT Requirements must include one of the following: + Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), or + A qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Must possess a clinical membership credential issued by the AAMFT. + LPC Requirements: + Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) or an examination determined by the Director, Defense Health Agency or designee as equal in scope, intent, and content to the NCMHCE. + Master's or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs; and + Post-master's degree counseling practice qualifying for independent licensure. We are looking for a Certified Athletic Trainer to join the team who is responsible for integrating the physical, mental and psychological wellness of our service members and their families for the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) contract to optimize and sustain Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission readiness, longevity, and performance through integrated and holistic human performance programs designed to strengthen the Force and Family. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Provide HP services within the ATC's scope of practice as defined by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). + Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment and braces to help prevent and treat injuries, including the use of taping techniques within the ATC's scope of practice. + Provide instruction and guidance within the ATC's scope of practice. + Participate in periodic meetings to review the care provided to patients and identifies opportunities for improvement. Should a meeting occur outside of regular working hours, the ATC is responsible for reviewing the information disseminated at the meeting. + Serve as an advisor to the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in matters related to injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and bridging. + Serve as an advisor to the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator for administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests. + Collaborate throughout the HP program to enhance the quality of patient care delivered. + Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure HP stays current with the provision of care. + Participate in quarterly peer (record) reviews for non-privileged healthcare providers. + Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required. + Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing and updating criteria-based job descriptions and performance standards. + Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing and maintaining clinical practice guidelines to ensure consistency of care across all Human Performance Training Centers (HPTCs). + Assist with the preparation of short and long-term fiscal plans. Submit input to the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used for patient care and contributes to a safe working environment. + Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions. Commands will allow for attendance at necessary conferences or courses to complete continuing education units required to maintain certification. + Perform clinical and administrative tasks as assigned by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Document care provided, work performed, utilization, referrals, and all other information in the Military's Electronic Health Record (i.e., AHLTA, GENESIS, etc.) and/or the HP Enterprise-wide database (i.e., SPEAR), as directed by HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Perform other tasks, within the scope of the ATC position description, as assigned by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. + Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements + Collect and report all data as requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff. + Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff. Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training: + Must be a US Citizen. + This position requires a Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain a clearance. + Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. + NATABOC certified. + Possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or shall obtain the certification within the first year of employment. + Must possess a valid, unrestricted license from one of the 50 United States or its territories and maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at a local MTF where applicable. + Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as an ATC with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings. Paid full-time experience as a Government civilian or contract employee at US Army and/or Marine Corps Infantry Units, may be counted towards minimum qualification requirements, provided this experience was gained within the most recent, continuous 3 years, as a directly embedded staff member, on-site with respective Army and/or Marine Corp entities. + Capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, and lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms. Desired Education/Experience/Skills/Training: + Master's degree in Athletic Training. + Prior military and/or SOF experience. + Experience in the field of strength and conditioning.
