Duties, Responsibilities & Other
KCI is seeking a motivated student for a Landscape Architect Internship to join our team for Summer 2026. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations. Responsibilities include:
The intern may assist with the design and planning of outdoor spaces, preparing drawings, and working on project presentations.
They may also visit project sites to observe field conditions, assist in site measurements, and gather information for design projects.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Attend bi-weekly or more frequent meetings with project teams.
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Assist with the development of preliminary concept designs and submit them for approval.
Assist with the preparation of preliminary site plans, including base sheets, and submit them for approval.
Compare field data to base plans to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Conduct field construction observations and learn to prepare detailed reports of findings for review.
Conduct site visits to gather necessary data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs, as needed.
Draft accurate and visually appealing report graphics.
Compile and draft research summaries to support project development.
Obtain research materials from federal, state, and local agencies as required.
Plot the location of project sites and utilities.
Review shop drawings to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
Complete other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
• This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required.
• Currently enrolled in a college accredited program for Landscape Architecture.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
• 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
• MicroStation or AutoCAD skills desired.

The marketing coordinator will demonstrate a firm understanding of the proposal/procurement process within AEC industry. The marketing coordinator leads various pursuit teams in developing proposals and presentations that position KCI to win projects across our many service lines. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated marketing team that helps secure the sales revenue that enables KCI's continuous growth. A convincing candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn our services, unique value propositions (UVPs), and corporate structure to effectively present the firm's qualifications and win new projects. This individual must be an excellent time manager (capable of leading several pursuits at once) and motivated by growth opportunities. Qualified candidates will have experience working within architecture, engineering, construction, environmental or similar industry.
The marketing coordinator will:
Read RFQ/P documents thoroughly and prepare proposal checklists that list client submission requirements and identify proposal team action items.
Demonstrate experience with a CRM database; Microsoft Dynamics, Unanet (Cosential), or Deltek Vision (preferred).
Demonstrate experience with Adobe InDesign. Experience with additional programs, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, is preferred.
Understand the SF 330 / Architect-Engineer Qualifications process (experience preferred).
Lead pursuit teams on kickoff calls to develop winning strategies, assign team responsibilities, and establish deadlines.
Prepare presentations and coach technical teams in preparation for client interviews.
Track future project leads and update information regularly in the CRM database.
Enter and update personnel and project information in the CRM database to maintain accurate records.
Work with technical project managers and marketing content/support team to develop comprehensive materials highlighting KCI's staff and capabilities.
Conduct background research and gather/tailor supporting materials.

Provide quality control (QC) review of marketing peer proposals.

Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a full time Water Quality/Science Technician to provide field support for the South Florida Water Management District's (SFWMD) Water Quality Bureau. This position is based at the SFWMD Field Station in West Palm Beach, FL, within a team that monitors water quality to comply with permit requirements and legal mandates, and to provide information in support of management decisions and strategies for restoration.
The selected candidate will be hired by Stantec and will serve as an onsite staff member to the SFWMD. The position will support routine compliance water quality monitoring, groundwater, atmospheric deposition (rain), fish, soil/sediment, vegetation and other biological sample collections.
The Technician will accompany SFWMD staff on field trips to remote project sites for water quality and multi-parameter field sample collections. The majority of work will be the collection of surface water samples by land, boat or helicopter, at various field locations. Field efforts often include exposure to hot, humid, and wet conditions in areas occupied by animals such as alligators, snakes, and stinging/biting insects.
The position will work four 10-hour days, Monday thru Thursday of each week. Field days start in West Palm Beach, FL and occur throughout the SFWMD network.
Your Key Responsibilities
The Water Quality/Science Technician is expected to a) follow FDEP SOPs (DEP-SOP-001/01) and the WQM Quality System Requirements; b) operate, calibrate and maintain field instrumentation and equipment including automatic water sampling equipment, multi-parameter water quality instruments, boats, vehicles, and Global Positioning System (GPS); c) collect field data and samples; d) document field conditions and/or data utilizing the Horizon Data Field Management (HFDM) application on field computers; e) troubleshoot instrument problems; f) perform specialized sampling, such as ultra-trace mercury and pesticide sampling following SOPs; and g) prepare samples for laboratory analysis. The Water Quality/Science Technician position will also be required to perform manual labor such as organize field supplies and equipment, load/unload vehicles, set up/take down equipment and may perform site management.
In addition to the above, this position will include:
Preparation for field trips.
Collection of in-situ surface water quality field measurements using multi-parameter water quality sondes (e.g., Hydrolab, YSI, or equivalent).
Collection of surface water samples using automatic water samplers and surface water sampling equipment such as Van Dorn (a.k.a. Niskin) samplers.
Collection of soil/sediment samples using PONAR dredges, corers, or other appropriate sampling devices.
Collection of all appropriate QC samples.
Performing all field sample and data collection activities in strict compliance with sampling protocols and quality assurance requirements.
The documentation of all maintenance (e.g., autosampler) activities.
Data reporting of site and field conditions, in-situ surface water parameters from continuous monitoring equipment, blue-green algae status and observations, among others.
Documentation will be performed using portable field computer, field data collection software, and related software.
Cleaning and decontamination of sampling equipment, as well as cleaning vehicle, laboratory, and warehouse space.
This position may be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
Exertion plus travel: Composition of office and field work (percentage dependent upon position requirements), with regular exposure to a hot and humid environment in remote and heavy vegetative areas.
Staff will often be exposed to environments with stinging/biting insects, snakes, alligators, polluted water, contaminants, acids, and debris.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
Experience in field sampling techniques for surface water, working with field and water quality equipment, and trailering and operating powerboats (up to 23 feet in length) is highly preferred.
Must be agile with good balance, and with the manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and to move across rough and uneven terrain.
Familiarity with use of data reporting and field software for data recording will be helpful.
Have a valid Driver's License and the ability to drive 4-wheel drive vehicles over unpaved and sometimes rough terrain; experience trailering and driving large passenger trucks (Ford F250s, Chevy Silverado 2500s, etc.) is preferred.
Can passenger and work off boats, airboats, and helicopters after completing required safety training; boat operating experience is preferred.
The expectation of working in, on, or near water requires basic water skills with the ability to swim.
Can stand and/or kneel for extended periods outdoors during all weather conditions.
Be able to lift 50 LBS.
Be able to bend and/or twist while picking up and moving/transporting equipment.
Vision (near vision-computer screen; far vision-driving/operating equipment).

Project Management
Responsible for the management of transportation design projects for FDOT, Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, counties, and municipalities.
Direct and/or develop project design documentation, including typical section packages, pavement design reports, design exceptions and variations, and specifications.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other
The Senior Transportation Project Manager is the highest level in KCI's Project Management career path in our Transportation Practice. Selected candidate will be responsible for leading large-scale, complex transportation projects or multi-project transportation programs. This role provides strategic oversight across a portfolio of roadway or multimodal infrastructure projects, ensuring they align with client goals, regulatory requirements, and technical standards. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience leading roadway projects in South Florida.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Project Management Leadership and Execution:
Manage all aspects of the project(s), including technical staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Develop and communicate the Project Management Plan for the project, outlining project objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Under general direction, from the Practice Leader, serves as the lead designer or engineer of record for complex or major highway design and arterial projects
Effectively manage the project scope, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project requirements.
Maintain project schedules, proactively identifying and addressing potential delays or conflicts to minimize impact on project timelines.
Define and refine requirements through a project lifecycle.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing cost-control measures as needed to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
Uphold high-quality standards throughout project execution, overseeing quality control processes and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining open communication and addressing client concerns or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and project team members to drive project success and foster a collaborative working environment.

Training, Development, and Compliance:
Mentors Project Managers and coordinates with engineers, planners, contractors, and government agencies to deliver cohesive, cost-effective, and timely transportation solutions
Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
Ensure projects fulfill Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Provide input to develop project-specific safety plans and implement project safety plans to ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, safety rules and regulations.

Financial Management and Reporting:
Responsible for negotiating contract terms, scope and fees with a client/subconsultant.
Responsible for developing project schedules from inception to completion. Should be able to recognize areas where tasks can be done concurrently to optimize schedule.
Develop contracts for clients/ subconsultants.
Report monthly proposal/business development results to Practice Leader.
Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (65-75% typical).
Chart and provide project performance results.
Deliver all projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope.
Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters.
Prepare and submit monthly project completion report.
Prepare inter-practice agreements and/or outside subcontracts as required.
Prepare monthly progress reports and be able to discuss in monthly Project Review Meetings.
Responsible for project cash management (WIP, A/P and A/R) and providing comments to Finance and Operations monthly.
Set-up new projects and provide weekly new project data to the Practice L
Search for ways to improve efficiency while lowering project cost.
Business Development and Marketing:
Responsible for participating in project opportunity evaluations, consultant selections, and the preparation of qualification/experience statements.
Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, coordinating and participating in project presentations to clients and other external groups, developing and organizing proposal teams and promoting KCI's capabilities among existing and prospective clients.
Assist project closeout with an overall project write up and pictures of completed project for marketing/resume use.
Active involvement in at least one industry and/or community organization.
Project Execution and Technical Oversight:
Fully manage all required project management and technical deliverables required in contract scope of work.
Compare field data to design plans.
Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs as needed.
Prepare all phases of designs and/or deliverables submitting for approval.
Utilize OpenRoads Designer, or other design software, to develop detailed roadway design plans, including horizontal and vertical alignments, corridor modeling, cross-sections, earthwork calculations and bid quantities, ensuring compliance with state and federal transportation design standards.
Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution.
Make determinations and recommendations to resolve challenges during project implementation or development.
Maintain knowledge of current Federal, state and/or municipal policies, procedures, and guidelines
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
Experience should include a track record of expanding project management duties.
Proven experience in project management roles, with a focus on managing larger-scale projects or programs.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other
KCI is seeking a motivated student for a Transportation Engineering Internship to join our team for Summer 2026.This position offers hands-on experience working on roadway and transportation projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations. Responsibilities include:
Assist in the preparation of construction plans for transportation and roadway projects
Support engineering calculations, interpretation of drawings/specifications, and quantity take-offs
Help design and prepare construction drawings for various transportation projects using CADD software
Contribute to the development of engineering reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
Assist in coordinating work between multiple engineering disciplines
Participate in proposal preparation and other project support tasks
Gain exposure to industry standards, design practices, and project delivery methods
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
• This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
• 3.0 GPA or higher
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
• Valid Driver's License
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
