Duties, Responsibilities & Other KCI is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Telecommunications Drafting Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a real-world telecommunications environment. You will work closely with our experienced engineers and project managers on a variety of projects, focusing on drafting and design. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations. Key Responsibilities: Utilize AutoCAD to design small cell and macro sites for various carrier clients. Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of telecommunications projects. Conduct site visits to obtain measurements needed for small cell and macro construction drawings. Conduct research and gather data to support project development. Prepare technical drawings, reports, and documentation. Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor project progress. Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions Perform calculations and simulations using engineering software. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Qualifications: Strong knowledge in AutoCAD is required. Relevant work experience in telecommunications is preferred. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Coursework or certification in drafting or engineering technology is preferred but not required. Qualifications Education and/or Skills Required: • This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required. • Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: • 3.0 GPA or higher Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required: • Valid Driver's License • Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
