ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions include but are not limited to: Backup for other technicians where service and support are needed. May require working off shift. Installation and integration of safety control equipment. Ensures that appropriate quality engineers/techs/auditors are notified of programming/electronics changes that affect product or process quality. Maintains & repairs electrical/electronic and optical equipment assigned production areas. This includes troubleshooting, testing, adjusting, calibrating replacing parts, etc. in a manner that will facilitate a safe and effective repair. Minimizes quality risks due to the electrical/electronic machinery/equipment including maintaining inspection systems. Minimizes electrical safety risk by ensuring approved procedures are followed and standards are met. Communicates and maintains a favorable rapport with team leaders, engineering, maintenance and production associates. Is on-call for emergencies. Uses personal computers to interface with PLC's and peripheral equipment. Works with vendors. Communicates daily events, projects, etc. to the electronic tech on the next shift. May include layout, fabrication and programming project work. Works under electrical engineering in various areas as needed for projects. Performs other duties as assigned by the Shift Leader and required to support the needs of the business. Must maintain regular, punctual attendance. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Well-developed technical writing skills. Ability to learn robotic systems. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Ability to think logically. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose electrical/mechanical problems. Demonstrated customer service skills. Ability to use electronic/electrical test equipment including VOM, clamp on ammeter, logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc Well-developed interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to read and understand electrical/electronic drawing and schematic diagrams. Proven problem-solving skills. Well-developed communication skills. Ability to understand FDA and site regulations for change control. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Computer literacy with a basic understanding of DOS, Window and Interface between PC and peripheral equipment. Basic Qualifications: Associates Degree (Major: Electrical Controls & Automation) required OR an Equivalent Associates degree such as: Computer Science associate's degree, EMT, Electrical Technology Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year with related experience related to industrial electronics. Ability to program robotic systems. Certificate of completion from an advanced PLC training course. Visual Basic programming skills. C/C+ programming skills.
