Duties include but are not limited to: daily pre-use inspection of heavy equipment; preparation and loading of necessary materials for heavy equipment operation; safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment; and daily post-use maintenance and inspection of heavy equipment. Responsible for ensuring work site safety and traffic control by setting up work site within rules/regulations/SOP's, and appropriate usage of equipment.

Lifeguard Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

Testing Requirements:
Candidates must perform the following two (2) test successfully prior to taking the Lifeguard Certification Course at The Keller Pointe.
Test 1: Swim Test
Swim 50 yards continuously using front crawl and/or breaststroke (no backstroke allowed), starting in the water. Immediately tread water for 2 minutes, using only your legs (no arm sculling). Then swim another 50 yards using front crawl and/or breaststroke.
Test 2: Timed Event
A timed event (complete within 50 seconds) that requires:
Starting in the water, swim 20 yards (face may be in or out of water; goggles not allowed).
Surface dive feet- or head-first to retrieve a 10-lb object from 6 feet depth.
Resurface, then swim 20 yards back (on your back) holding the object with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface.
Exit the water without using steps or a ladder.

This is a 10 week paid summer law clerk position for those who will have completed some of their course work from an ABA-accredited law school and thus considered a strong 1L, or 2L or recent graduate by the beginning of Summer 2026. This position is supervised by the Deputy City Attorney for the nine-person, in-house legal counsel for the City of College Station, population approximately 120,000. The clerk will have opportunity to work with various attorneys and paralegals in the office depending on the project or work assignment. This is an opportunity to gain insight into public law and what it's like to be in-house legal counsel for a public entity.
The City Attorney will sponsor the hired applicant for their State Bar of Texas Supervised Practice Card.
General Municipal Law Practice. This includes real estate, contracts, employment and other general law areas. The law clerk may assist in title review, preparation of deeds and related real estate documents, organization of documents for various transactions, proofreading of contracts, and researching legal issues related to these matters.
Prosecution. The law clerk may assist the City Attorney's Office in municipal court prosecution of Class C misdemeanors. Work may include preparation and review of complaints, assisting in processing plea bargains and similar matters, and conducting legal research. Criminal cases prosecuted include traffic laws, City ordinance violations, DOC noise complaints, dangerous dogs, and class C assaults.
