Position Function - Under the direction of the Director of Publics Works and/or Designee, performs assigned duties necessary to support the Street/Drainage division to ensure the proper construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, roadways, bridges, sidewalks, driveways, walking paths, curbs, gutters, storm drainage systems, and right-of-ways.
Essential Duties

Performs duties necessary to support the Street/Drainage Division to ensure the proper construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, roadways, bridges, sidewalks, driveways, walking paths, curbs, gutters, storm drainage systems, and rights-of-way. Duties include but are not limited to: setting forms; pouring, shoveling, and finishing concrete work; raking asphalt; and pothole repaired (hot or cold patch). Responsible for appropriate signage and/or traffic markers, and other traffic control measures.

Performs duties to construct, repair, and maintain inlets, water feature structures, and storm flumes/structures. Duties include, but are not limited to: installation, repair, and maintenance of storm pipes, inlets, baffle boxes, and bridges.

Assists with the proper maintenance of City grounds, retention ponds, rights-of-way, and common areas of City owned property and/or facilities, providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment. Duties include, but are not limited to: trash/debris removal, post-storm clean up, painting, lighting, etc. Responsible for safely using and proper care and maintenance of all tools and equipment necessary to complete projects, assignments, and/or tasks.

SIGN-ON INCENTIVE PROGRAM: $2,000 sign-on incentive upon hire Under general supervision, the purpose of the job is to perform semi-skilled landscaping, construction, maintenance and repair tasks related to park, trail, athletic field, public open space and grounds development and maintenance.
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. * Performs routine general and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and/or preparation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
* Prepares and maintains athletic fields and park grounds and all associated amenities.
* Trims trees and shrubs and performs basic landscape installation and maintenance.
* Operates light equipment (saws, weed eaters, drills, edgers).
* Monitors and maintains playground and park structures.
* Perform inspections and repairs minor irrigation issues.
* Monitors and maintains inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials.
* Performs building maintenance.
* Assists in the preparation, operation and takedown of special events hosted by the City.
* Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
* Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
* Must report to work for duty outside normally scheduled work hours in response to natural disasters, emergencies or critical incidents as determined by City Administration.
* Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by six (6) months of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
* Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License.
