Family Coach
Reports to: Director MBFI
Job Category: Hourly | Non-Exempt | Part-Time | Full-Time
Salary Range: $23.20-$28/hour (depending on experience and certifications)
Job Site: Hybrid (Steamboat Springs, CO/Home office)
This Program will provide a comprehensive training period led by Michael Barnes, Ph.D., LAC, LPC, Director and Founder of the MBFI Family Institute. This will include book review, classroom-style training sessions, and clinical supervision to ensure competence and adherence to MBFI Clinical Programming.
Job Summary:
The Family Coach works with families and those in recovery to help educate, support, and offer resources in the recovery journey.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human services fields preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as a Certified Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS) through the Colorado Providers Association (COPA) is required.
CAT certification or a willingness to complete CAT certification is a plus.
Minimum of one year's experience in an addictions and/or behavioral healthcare setting, with residential treatment experience desired.
Experience working with families who have family members in treatment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of “best practices” and evidence-based behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Ability to listen well and offer solutions.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Organized with strong time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience leading group activities and facilitating group sessions.
Familiar with the 12-Step Program and the 12 Steps/12 Traditions.
Knowledge of industry and trauma-integrated care are a plus.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to think creatively and share ideas.
Ability to make decisions using sound judgment, data, and advice.
Exhibit care and compassion with discretion to staff and participants.
Working understanding of State and federal regulatory requirements (JCAHO, BHA, CFR42, part 2, HIPPA).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's CRM system.
Experience working with/using clinical applications and ability to facilitate with families via phone, Zoom, and MBFI App.
Valid, non-restricted Colorado driver's license.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Implement the family component of the program to include initial phone calls, Family 101 and 102 (MBFI App Based Programs) and weekly family support groups, on-site family groups with clients, family sessions, and impact letter coordination.
Provide coaching and support to the family members of those in service.
Provide Family 101 and 102 services, both group and individual components.
Collaborate with the Director in the ongoing development of the family educational program.
Take an active role in navigating potential client ACA situations by coordinating with the on-site team, the client, and their support system.
Facilitate telehealth sessions with the family, the client, and the continuing care coordinator, prior to discharge from RTC/PHP level of care to review the aftercare plan and to identify important factors to consider as the participant shifts into aftercare or home.
Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Timely and complete record documentation.
Represent NRT to the community both formally and informally.
Adhere to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, BHA, and JCAHO regulations and standards.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working/typing on a computer.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb steps, hear, see, speak.
Exposure to clinical and medical environments.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
