Responsibilities
Assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers. Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist.

Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate and safe pharmacy services.
Scan 100% prescriptions using the bar-code checking program.
Accurately pull and count medication according to label generated.
Dispense the NDC on the drug label or brand-swap to the correct NDC.
Pull out of stocks and follow procedures on handling out of stock orders.
Maintain focus and keep up with work-flow.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records. Ensure strict patient confidentiality. Follow HIPPA guidelines.
Assist in inventory control including: auditing receipt of goods, maintain an accurate inventory, keep shelves organized and clean, place price sticker on each drug stock bottle, and monitoring usage and adequate inventory by utilizing daily inventory posting reports received from the supply department.
Perform cycle inventory at least monthly on fast movers. Notify supply of drug shortages or drug not received.
Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs, staff meetings, and educational programs as required by the Mail Order Pharmacy department.
Communicate with customer care associates on all order delays to facilitate member notification.
Keep work station organized and clean.
Assist in maintaining efficient work-flow.
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certificate required at time of hire or within one year of placement in position. Must be registered in the state of Texas.
Experience:
Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required.
Work Schedule:
Varied days and hours. May be required to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of pharmacy principles, practices and procedures.
Ability to operate various types of pharmacy equipment.
Ability to use a CRT to access patient/drug information systems.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time while performing pharmacy service support duties.
Ability to lift, store and carry supplies and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.

What the Compounding Pharmacy Technician Does Each Day:
Compound sterile preparations accurately according to detailed instructions
Clean work area and cleanroom (typically wiping down surfaces with aseptic wipe and occasional mopping)
Keep accurate documentation for accountability and traceability of product following Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
Comply with cGMPs and company International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards upon key steps in the work

Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Tech must have good working knowledge of general responsibilities of a pharmacy technician related to filling orders for unit doses, pre-packaging pharmaceuticals, DEA controlled substances, supplemental medications, emergency kits, and general stock requisitions. Performs various related pharmacy duties including quality improvement activities and staff training.

Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
