Job Summary:
Operate PVD coating furnaces to coat carbide and Cermet inserts.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Load and unload fixtures with product into furnaces.
Ensure that the product is set up correctly and sufficiently clean.
Enter product weights and desired coating cycle information and other related data into computer as required. Start and monitor the coating process.
Properly clean fixtures and base plates between heats.
Ensure adequate gas supply.
Replace gas tanks as needed.
Ensure targets and melts are adequate to run the process being loaded.
Perform test on standards to ensure coating thickness and adhesion are within specifications.
Perform batch cleanings at proper intervals.

Purpose & Scope: The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical and electronic repairs to machinery and support equipment throughout the Timken Bucyrus Bearing facility. Job Summary:
Operate PVD coating furnaces to coat carbide and Cermet inserts.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Load and unload fixtures with product into furnaces.
* Ensure that the product is set up correctly and sufficiently clean.
* Enter product weights and desired coating cycle information and other related data into computer as required. Start and monitor the coating process.
* Properly clean fixtures and base plates between heats.
* Ensure adequate gas supply.
* Replace gas tanks as needed.
* Ensure targets and melts are adequate to run the process being loaded.

Education and Experience:

Work Environment: Controlled temperatures and humidity room. Dust collection and system in place. Safety glasses with side shields required. Safety Shoes Required. Physical Demands: Approximately eight hours standing with two break opportunities per eight hour work period. Intermittent walking, reaching, sitting and bending. Lifting insert trays weighing no more than thirty-three (33) pounds.
Problem Solving: Incumbents are responsible for the furnace performance. Job duties are performed with latitude. Supervisors must be notified of any deviation from operating procedures. Solve furnace related problems by using learned knowledge and reasoning skills and by consulting supervisors and co-workers.
