This position is responsible for the outside operations of the continuous operation of the process, storage, loading, and unloading systems of a mixed natural gas liquids fractionation or amine treatment of sour gas facility. These duties include performing site checks, adjusting equipment per the direction of the control room and assisting the maintenance and other support groups for optimal efficiency of the plant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for gas treating, absorption, distillation, fractionation, product treating, product gas dehydration, and other process equipment.
Operates gas compressors, auxiliary engines, motors, and pumps.
Prepares engine room logs.
Performs servicing, lubrication, and minor maintenance of assigned equipment, including alarms and Process Safety Management (PSM) testing.
Handles routine maintenance, safety, and security in work area.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required
Valid Driver's License required
Must be able to pass drug test and background check
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
SKILLS:
Mechanical Aptitude: Develops ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles such as, but not limited to, sounds, heat conduction, velocity, gravity, friction, pressure, kinetic and potential energy, etc. when working or using mechanical machinery.

Repairing: Develops knowledge of and ability to repair machines, devices and equipment based on electrical and/or mechanical principles in order to diagnose malfunctions. Conducts tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance. Watches gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machine/device/equipment is working properly. Able to read, interpret and engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
Safety: Applies in difficult or complex situation's ability to recognize safety risks in operational activities and use appropriate measures to control and manage identified risks.
Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards. Evaluates changes in work environment with respect to impact on safety of self and others. Joins, fabricates and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the welding field. Responsible for set up, operation and position of welding equipment according to established company policies and procedures using appropriate safety methods.

Set up and operate welding machine to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
Ensure welds meet standards and specifications
Secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straight edge, combination square, calipers and ruler.
Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file or scraper.
Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage
Cleans parts to remove contamination prior to welding.
Uses inspection gages such as verniers, scales, micrometers and pin gages.
Follows established policies and procedures while working in a safe manner.
Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Conduct tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
