All language apprentices must possess a demonstrated commitment to language learning and teaching in his/her personal and professional lives. The Language Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the preservation of the Tribe's heritage languages through participation in a Mentor-Apprenticeship. The incumbent will also develop existing speaking and writing abilities through conversational practice and assigned language translation and transcription duties. The incumbent is also expected to apply his/her language skills throughout the community, especially at tribal and cultural events and may be called on to demonstrate his/her progress by sharing in a variety of public settings, such as (but not limited to) Tribal Council meetings, Annual Meeting, Elder's Dinners, and community potlatches. Job Duties & Responsibilities

Alaska Marine Trucking (AMT) is hiring for our Dock to Driver Training Program designed to pay for CDL Training for employees who would like to obtain their Class-A CDL. Successful candidates will be hired as Freight Handlers with the expectation that they will become Class-A Drivers through the dock to driver training program. While working as a freight handler the employee will learn our processes and procedures both on the dock and while on delivery routes. During the training period the successful candidates are expected to work through the process of acquiring a CDL with AMT and our training partners. All CDL training costs will be covered by Alaska Marine Trucking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned to support the department or other departments as time allows.

Inspect truck and trailer for defects to ensure safe operating condition before, during, and following trips; complete and submit daily vehicle inspection form.

Collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges when necessary.

The SCA Alaska Wrangell-Karta Corps team leader position is a 20-week AmeriCorps program focused on leadership development, completing trail work projects and building a sense of community. This team will consist of 4 young adult members and one leader.
This team will be working with the US Forest Service in the Tongass National Forest for 6 weeks in the Wrangell RD and with the City of Wrangell. They will then work for 6 weeks in the Thorne Bay RD on the Karta River Wilderness Trail building and maintaining trail, performing wilderness monitoring, and cabin maintenance. Crosscut is required for the Thorne Bay portion.

The crew will fly to and from Admiralty Island on a small plane for every 8-day service stretch. The crew will camp while on hitch.

Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) is recruiting for full-time maintenance technician at the Neets Bay Hatchery, a remote hatchery located approximately 30 air miles from Ketchikan, Alaska. The Neets Bay Hatchery program includes approximately 140 million chum salmon and 3.5 million coho salmon. This position requires living on site in furnished subsidized rental housing. Utilities include but are not limited to: weekly mail and supply flights, satellite internet, and R&R hotel accommodation in Ketchikan. Work consists of maintenance and repairs associated with 9 residential buildings, a bunkhouse, a shop/office building, a hatchery building, rolling stock, various boats and outboards, a hydro-electric generator and two diesel generators, a large dock and multiple netpen complexes, multiple barges as well as other infrastructure associated with a small community.
The ideal candidate can develop healthy working relationships with co-workers and have a willingness to learn and share knowledge and skills. Some experience in construction and/or maintenance and repair is required. Boating experience is a plus. The job requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 50lbs or more repeatedly, work outdoors in inclement weather or inside around cold running water.

Assists with the maintenance and repair at the hatchery. Organizes and records maintenance schedules on major equipment as assigned. Assists with a variety of construction and fabrication projects at the hatchery. Assists in the development of plans and material lists for projects as assigned. Orders supplies for projects as assigned.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Welcomes and provides information to patients, visitors, and tribal members either in person or phone.
Sends reminder to patients to schedule preventive care appointment.
Adheres to rescheduling appointment protocol.
Attends and participates in appropriate committee meetings to improve quality processes and maintain quality results.
Works with Clinic staff in preparation, participation, and closure of medical services daily.
Incumbent will prepare and gather information needed for patient visit.
Incumbent is responsible for rooming patients per clinic guidelines.
Completes appropriate aspects of patient care to include: vital signs, height, weight, and an eye exam if needed.
Setup and assist in procedures, while observing sterile technique.
Provide approved injections (vaccines and state-approved IM medications), ECG's, pre-exam prep, assist provider during exam, and collects lab specimens.
Performs minor, non-invasive treatments to include: simple wound care and suture/staple removal after assessment by a provider.
Assist in moving and/or transporting patients as needed.
Answer patient questions or refer them to the proper source.
Clean exam rooms per protocol, observing standard precautions based on reported symptoms.
Administration of approved medication, after completion of school with oversite by Registered Nurse.
Maintains a working inventory of medical supplies.
Performs daily stock of exam rooms and monthly outdates, including appropriate disposal of expired items.
Cleans dirty / used supplies and equipment.
Reports any unsafe conditions to appropriate supervisor upon discovery.
