Job Details
Provides leadership, direction, and coordination of operations in a manner consistent with organizational mission and objectives. The President demonstrates and supports the spiritual mission and the faith-based culture of Kettering Health. Collaborates with system leadership to guide all aspects of internal and external operations and programs which include fiscal and general operations; patient care operations; professional services; marketing, community relations, spiritual care, and human resources related to areas of oversight. Develops, models, coaches the champions, sponsors, and managers of various strategic initiatives, in collaboration with individual local and system leaders, who have operational responsibilities at Kettering Health Troy. Key to success in this role is leading in a manner that enhances team member and physician engagement, growing market share and margin in a manner that considers the need for balanced lifestyle of clinicians. Performs other duties as assigned. Reports to the President KH Dayton.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Works effectively at all levels of the organization, including boards of trustees, medical staff, administration, employees, and the community.
Supports an environment for effective spiritual care.
Works closely with senior management staff of the medical center, KH Dayton President and with the corporate officers of the system in developing and achieving management and financial goals as well as fulfilling the mission and vision of the medical center.
Ensures appropriate control of operations for Kh Troy through systematic management processes.
Provides input into strategic direction for KH Troy to serve community needs and is accountable to successfully execute agreed upon plans.
Provides an environment for subordinates that is professionally stimulating, challenging, and motivating with opportunity for their personal growth and development.
Provides a physician friendly environment that enhances long term partnership.
Communicates effectively with people of varying cultures, diverse needs, and ages.

Develop tactics for KH Troy that supports the KH strategic initiatives and the north market strategies under the KH Dayton President.

Creates an approach to patient experience built on leader accountability.

Manages in a manner to maintain a 5%+ margin on an ongoing basis.
Keeps the KH Dayton President informed systematically re: the overall performance of KH Troy.
Encourages feedback, listens, and considers perspectives from a broad range of individuals

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in Business Administration)
Master's Degree preferred (preferably in Healthcare Administration)
Appropriate continuing education courses
Minimum of 5 years progressive administrative leadership experience in acute care or health care management is required. Working experience with private practice, group practices, employed physicians, and academics is desired. Need to be able to demonstrate a track record of improving performance over time across key domains.

STAFFING NEEDS: Manages staff-to-physician ratio, adjusting staff schedules and filling in as needed. Processes staff time and attendance bi-weekly, monitoring and maintaining accurate PTO records, tardiness, and absences. Tracks physicians time-off according to their benefit summary. Conducts coaching, development, corrective action, staff evaluations, and provides reward and recognition to keep employees engaged and productive. Follows the Just Culture process as appropriate. Facilitates monthly staff meetings in support of POC and other KPN initiatives. Collaborates with KPN operations to prepare for monthly practice operations council meetings.
COMPLIANCE/QUALITY: Maintains confidentiality with patient records in accordance with HIPAA. Assists physicians with preparing, monitoring, and submitting CME expense reimbursement requests. Ensures the practice remains compliant with all regulatory agencies (e.g. CLIA, TDDD, OSHA, Board of Pharmacy, etc). Ensures drug samples are accurately tracked and dispensed in compliance with state regulations. Oversees condition of physical property and monitors security practices/policies. Ensures staff and physicians complete mandatory network requirements (e.g. safety education, corporate integrity education, immunizations, flu shot).
EPIC: Ensures staff captures updated patient demographic and insurance information at every patient encounter and update in Epic as appropriate. Oversees charge entry posting, ensuring all non-scheduled events (surgeries, hospital rounding, nursing home visits) are captured timely and entered in Epic appropriately and timely. Ensures the Daily Encounter Control Report is reconciled daily or no less frequently than twice per week. Ensures the Practice's charge review and claim edit work queues are worked to completion daily.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field required (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
Experience: Two - three years of experience in a medical office environment, with one - two years of management preferred.
