Powell Service Division is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior ServiceTechnician interested in joining one of the nation's leading providers of medium and low voltage switchgear. Powell ServiceTechnicians are responsible for ensuring the end-to-end safety, quality and performance of Powell equipment across the US and Canada. This includes performing installations, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and periodic supervision of small crews. The ideal candidate thinks critically, can work well independently, and is a problem solver. Senior servicetechnicians are expected to service the west coast, gulf coast south, offshore and east coast service regions. Qualified ServiceTechnicians are provided safety and technical training with full office support. Once qualified, Technicians are assigned a company vehicle, standard tooling, testing equipment, a laptop, smart phone, and company expense card.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to Powell's current safety and quality standards
Complete all site documentation in in a timely manner; including but not limited to, weekly time sheets, signed service and repair order, materials used and report writing.
Provide regular and clear communication regarding work schedule to Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager
Maintain flexible work hours, which will include over time and periodic weekend support
Comply with Powell ‘s standard operating procedures, documentation processes, safety processes and protocols.
Coordinate with Powell Project management, customers, vendors, and labor support in a professional and customer-centric manner
Able to work in different roles from supporting the Manufacturing Department within house fabrication, to overseeing small crews on installation projects.
Switchgear and PCR installations
DC / AC Switchgear
Knowledge of Traction Power Systems
Troubleshooting mechanical repair issues.
Perform performance testing on Powell equipment and components, including but not limited to; insulation testing (megger testing), Ductor, Hi Potential testing, torque tests and mechanical / functional testing.
Perform regular inspections of any issued vehicle or calibrated equipment/tools.
Demonstrate ability to manage tasks, commitments, and deadlines as it pertains to assigned tasks, communications with customers, and internal customers
Job Requirements
The Senior ServiceTechnician must possess a high school diploma, as well as three or more years' experience, as a shop and / or field electrical / technician.
Senior ServiceTechnicians must exhibit knowledge of Electrical Industry manufacturing standards.
Specific standards include sections of ANSI IEEE C37 applicable to the design and manufacture of breakers and switchgear.
Specific knowledge of the following: ANSI IEEE device function numbers; ampacities of electrical conductors in switchgear applications; electrical air and surface creepage clearance requirements.
Demonstrate knowledge in the design and manufacture of bus and structural modification projects.
Powell also requires that all ServiceTechnicians undergo Factory Certified Technician training and maintain a passing grade.
The Senior ServiceTechnician must be experienced in the art of writing accurate and complete test reports, project summaries and has the ability to explain anomalies found on a given project.
Knowledge of basic electrical theory and control circuits i.e.: Ohm's Law; Basic AC and DC theory; contactor and circuit breaker schematics are a must.
The Senior ServiceTechnician must be able to perform of hi-pot testing and breaker function testing. i.e.: testing of over-current and motor protection relays with current injection; acceptance testing of dielectric apparatus using over voltage testing; mechanical and electrical functional testing of circuit breakers and electrical switchgear.
The Senior ServiceTechnician will also be expected to demonstrate proficiency with computer skills using Oracle, MS Outlook, Power DB, Word & Excel.
Additional requirements include but are not limited to:
Working knowledge with using the following test equipment: Hi potential, DLRO, Multi-meter, dial caliper.
Must demonstrate working knowledge with the use of various hand tools and mechanical adaptability.
Must have verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in problem solving is a preferred.
Willing to attend in-house and out-side training.
Willing to travel up 85% of the year.
Demonstrate ability to read and interpret plan sets and one-line diagrams.

The Senior ServiceTechnician typically performs duties in an industrial environment. This position requires services both locally and across the Continental US. Job Responsibilities
The FieldServiceTechnician will have an understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Daily travel from home to customer facilities with overnight hotel stays required when servicing remote Customer locations within the designated coverage territory or when participating in remote training programs.

Ensure accurate documentation is completed and connect with office management daily. Efficiently update the status of machine issues, repairs, and installations using the Salesforce Lightning Customer Support computer system.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
Promote and perform preventative maintenance and successfully diagnose and resolve CNC equipment issues to the customer's satisfaction.
Job Requirements
Minimum of one year of experience with a machine tool builder or distributor, a factory maintenance technician would also be considered.
Proficient verbal and written communication and Customer relation skills.
Able to interact and optimally communicate in person and over the phone with customer and co-workers.
Present a professional image.
Must be adaptable to changes and flexible when dealing with delays, or general work-related issues
Basic digital literacy and understanding of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

JOB FUNCTION:
This position ensures the purity of the water processed for MPW Industrial Water customers at various project sites. The FieldServiceTechnician will be responsible for providing our on-site technical customer service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Travels up to 75% of the time to various project sites and maintains MPW Water Purification Equipment.
Acts as support function to multiple locations as needed.
Adheres to all Safety rules, regulations and guidelines, including proper housekeeping.
Works closely with the customer, daily, to troubleshoot and repair system operational problems and makes corrections when appropriate.
Tracks the performance, via daily logs, of the equipment at the various project sites.
Performs required labor at the various project sites, including hose and pipe assembly, chemical drum handling, chemical transfer, filter backwashes, filter media replacement, pump maintenance, membrane cleaning and replacement.
Uses monitoring equipment to test water quality to assure established standards are being met.
Responsible for calibration of monitoring equipment.
Perform water analysis and/or collects samples for preparation, labeling and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis.
Completes PC-based reports on site conditions, test results, site corrections and site deficiencies.
Work with PLC controls; repairs pumps, instruments, and control panels
Provides ongoing interface with customers to assure they are satisfied with job and acts as technical consultant and liaison with customer management and technical counterparts.
Maintain inventory of spare parts (lube oil, tubing, and piping), and adequate supply of reagents, sample containers, and shipment containers necessary for routine as well as special sampling and analysis..

The Cleveland, Ohio Regional FieldServiceTechnician is responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, repair services and installations for Minster stamping presses and coil line equipment. The technician serves as a key liaison between the customer and the company, delivering expert-level service. In addition to hands on work, the technician will be responsible to perform courtesy customer visits interfacing closely with the regional Nidec Minster Sales Manager. Ideal candidate would be located within two hours of Cleveland and be a resident of this region or willing to relocate to this region.
Job Responsibilities
Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, maintenance installation & commissioning of Nidec Minster stamping presses and coil line systems. Occasional work on non-Minster equipment as well
Conduct equipment inspections with thorough documentation of findings
Partner with Regional Sales Managers to identify service opportunities and support aftermarket sales initiatives including training, OEM parts, equipment upgrades, and service agreements with customers
Work flexible hours to support customer service needs
Build & maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication & reliable service delivery
Collaborate with technical support teams to resolve complex problems
Document in English, service activities, findings, and recommended actions in detailed service reports in an accurate and professional manner
Maintain company tools, service equipment, and service vehicles in good working conditions
Job Qualifications - Education, Training & Experience
Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military or industry experience
3+ years of fieldservice experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Prior experience with metal stamping presses and coil line equipment strongly preferred
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, servo systems, and HMI interfaces is a plus
Job Qualifications - Technical & Soft Skills
Strong mechanical, electrical, lubrication, hydraulic & pneumatic troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service orientation with a professional demeanor
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field
Job Qualifications - Other
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel in region ~75% and outside of region ~25%
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments
