KIDS FIRST Swim Schools company history timeline
After 18 years of growing that program, Penny was invited to join the Development Board of the Rodale Aquatic Center at Cedar Crest College and became their first Swim School Director upon opening in 2001.
Dan Rummer had already moved here from Ohio to become our Facility Director in April 2004, finding his office had not yet been built and the source of his employment only a hole in the ground.
So, with the help of her husband Chris, Co-Founder of Goldfish Swim School, she began researching the swim industry in late 2004.
In early 2005, Jenny created the systems that Goldfish still uses and improves upon to this day, and it was also at that time that she and Chris dreamt up their rustic beach house decor, all from the kitchen of their home.
After the two years of research, and a lot of hard work, Chris and Jenny opened Goldfish Swim School in Birmingham, Michigan on March 20, 2006.
The following spring 2006 enrollment was almost 1000/week.
Since opening its first franchise in 2009 in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Goldfish Swim School has continued to grow across North America.
