What You'll Do * Assist Journeyman Electricians with installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment * Earn competitive wages and overtime and must be able to work multiple Saturdays and possibly Sundays. * Preform daily responsibilities that include * Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit * Drill holes for wiring and pulls * Trace out short circuits in wiring * Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site * Install fixtures * Assist our cabling and special systems teams when needed to install, configure and troubleshoot low voltage electronic systems including: nurse call, CCTV, access control, sound systems and audio-visual systems. * Create and maintain a safe work environment, meeting or exceeding OSHA regulations and project safety requirements * Opportunities to take on a variety of other tasks based on skill set and interests Requirements * Candidates must possess a current State of Nebraska Electrical License. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION This is a full-time, 12-week internship from May 18 to August 7, 2026. Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday - approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Junior or senior undergraduate students majoring in Cybersecurity fields will be considered for this internship. COMPENSATION: $22 per hour. Interns are involved in division, team, and project meetings, take on tasks that impact department goals, and learn new skills SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Security Administrator intern will work with the IT department to safeguard our organization's computer networks and systems. You will be expected to plan and carry out security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from threats, both internal and external. You will work closely with our infrastructure, network, desktop, and application teams. SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong interest in learning and self-development. Be a self-starter. Effective communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of: Firewalls and Networking; Data Encryption; Data Forensics; Vulnerability Discovery. JOB FUNCTIONS: Review and audit configuration of enterprise firewalls and network platform that includes IPS, AV, URL filtering, Application Control, Mobile Access, Anti-Spam, Anti-Bot, and others as needed. Administer enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) program. Configure and maintain event feeds and appropriate logging levels from all relevant sources. Monitor, Triage, Respond, and Escalate security incidents. Participate in internal vulnerability assessment and internal audit functions against ES&S systems and networks. Provide reports of findings and recommendations for security enhancements. Perform threat modeling on existing and upcoming feature sets for new applications so that appropriate security controls can be built from the ground up. Review security advisories and reports and work closely with the network and application teams in any follow up investigation or remediation. Deliver enterprise security control systems. Make recommendations for, and drive adoption of, new technology to meet security control objectives.Review and recommend system security policies. Works to achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results.
