You will function as a manager on the project, and may have responsibility for multiple superintendents, foremen and crews. Our projects are located across North America. This position is based out of our Omaha, NE HQ, with up to 60% travel required. Position could qualift for more flexible remote work based on the candidate experience. Responsibilities Field Operations: * Lead and be responsible for field safety, quality, and environmental compliance. * Manage the planning and field execution of large diameter, long run HDD installations. * Supervise all crew members including drill operators, mud crew, and support crew. * Responsible to maintain project schedule and deliverables. * Oversee proper rig set-up, bore planning, mud mixing, and execution of the work. * Monitor drill rig operations, trouble-shoot and provide solutions if issues arise. * Train and mentor crew members on safe and productive drilling operations. * Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready to work. * Advise senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, safety issues, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in resolving such problems as required. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure the alignment with project goals. Business Development: * Assist in identifying target future HDD projects and opportunities. * Provide input on HDD project estimates and cost analysis. * Fully participate in early planning stages of project procurement, design, and constructability. Qualifications * Must have 15+ years of experience in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) as a field supervisor type of role, leading crews & working to defined contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements. * Experience operating or supervising drilling operations utilizing drill rigs ranging in pull back force of 200,000lb to 1,000,000 lbs. * Understanding of cost management processes, planning, scheduling and logistics to execute a project. * Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative; a passion for safety, with the ability to ensure that nobody gets hurt. * Experience in client relations, business development and cost estimating. * Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity and strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills * The physical ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmental conditions and move objects up to 30 pounds * Ability and desire to travel and relocate as business requires around North America and work varied shifts, which could include evenings and weekends #LI-TSCOTT Other Requirements: * Regular, reliable attendance * Work productively and meet deadlines timely * Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. * Perform work safely and effectively.
