Responsibilities As a Safety Intern, you'll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures. You'll assist in monitoring the various construction projects activities, ensuring the compliance with pertinent government regulations, state or provincial, client, and company policies and procedures. You'll assist in establishing and monitoring safe working conditions for our most valuable assets - our people. You'll provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on performance issues when needed. Safety Interns will review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with all standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching and regular onsite training. You must have the ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide-ranging weather conditions and terrain with the ability to travel and/or relocate as required for projects. Qualifications * Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study * Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements * Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel * Strong organizational and time management skills * Strong written and verbal communication skill * Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies * Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done * Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership * The ability to work independently as well as part of a team * Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment * The ability to travel and relocate as required #LI-KS1 Other Requirements: * Regular, reliable attendance * Work productively and meet deadlines timely * Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment * Perform work safely and effectively. The purpose of this project is to support an effort seeking to transform the Government Autonomy and Modeling simulation Environment (GAME) simulation software into a more intuitive and accessible tool for users. Demand for the use of the KBR's autonomy modeling and simulation environment is increasing with current and potential stakeholders with demand signals emerging from additional internal USAF users as well as international partners such as the Netherlands and Royal Australian Air Force. The project stands to benefit current and potential customers with lower long-term maintenance and redesign costs, thus increasing their return on investment. Improving the usability of the GAME simulation software stands to competitively differentiate the software, thus potentially enhancing market competitiveness, contract conversion rates, and client retention. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing software front-end user interface. Help streamlining software installation and configuration requirements. Aid in the development and documentation of software baseline configurations. Facilitate the creation of user training materials.
